Iranian government must prefer the interests of the people to the interests of certain individuals

Rasa – Ayatollah Sa’idi said that government must urgently design and implement short-term, practical and executive programs for solving the demands of the people.
RNA – In his Friday prayer sermon delivered to a large and fervent crowd of believers in Qom’s Qods Prayer Hall, Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Sa’idi and said that the hostility of the hegemonic powers against Iran is due to the rule of Islam and added, “The victory of the Islamic Revolution expelled the tyrant leader [Mohammad Reza Pahlavi] from Iran, who was a bullying and malignant tumour.

The custodian of the Holy Shrine of Lady Fatimah al-Ma’sumah added, “After its victory, Which was achieved through awareness, self-confidence and religion, the history-making Iranian people decided to overcome its imposed backwardness and followed the path of independence, freedom, advancement, development and material and spiritual excellence based on Islam, the Quran and the school of the Ahlul-Bayt.”

He said that the Iranian people had protected the Islamic Revolution through resistance and obedience to the Wali al-Faqih [Guardian-Jurist] and stated, “The wounded enemies were never idle and with their satanic plans, they turned back path back to the dark past and the era of plunder and planned riots and chaos.”

Ayatollah Sa’idi continued, “Due to divine grace and with the vigilance of the people, the enemies were defeated each time. In the recent conspiracy, the Iranian people engaged in a historic act and defeated the enemies with zeal and resistance. When the enemies were thinking of launching riots and chaos, the time-conscientious Iranian nation was present on the scene and will defeat the spiteful enemies.”

The representative of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah Khamenei] in Qom said that the Iranian people demonstrated that they were invincible against domestic and foreign conspirators and enemies and said, “Despite the efforts of the government throughout the history of the Islamic Revolution, problems, including those affecting the economy and living conditions, have been inflicted the people. Realizing the promises related to the living conditions and the welfare of the people increases public confidence regarding the functioning of the executive apparatus and the relative satisfaction of the people.”

His Eminence said that government must urgently design and implement short-term, practical and executive programs for solving the demands of the people and in order to carry out this important duty it’s necessary to engage in revolutionary action and to prefer the interests and satisfaction of the majority of the people instead of the interests and satisfaction of a few.

Ayatollah Sa’idi added that although, the recent riots in Iran indicate that these plans came from the enemies, we mustn’t ignore the internal factors and the grounds for the dissatisfaction. If these grounds were not ready, the rioters wouldn’t have been able to launch the riots. The Supreme Leader said ‘if we can fix our internal weaknesses, the United States cannot to a damn thing.’”

Qom’s Friday prayer leader said that the recent riots were similar to the historical Battle of the Trench and said, “The United States, Europe, monarchists, hypocrites, reactionaries of the region and all the enemies of the Islamic Revolution came into action with the intention to overthrow the Islamic Republic. The Front of Disbelief, Polytheism and Hypocrisy supposed that Iran was suffering from internal weakness and were thus tempted to try it again but the timely presence and powerful movement of the Iranian people once again demonstrated Iran’s authority and dignity to the world.”

The Friday prayer leader Qom also appreciated the efforts of all the security and law enforcement forces who acted with rationality and discretion in the face of the recent riots.

Ayatollah Sa’idi said, “With the subsiding of the protests and riots, the announcement of tense, inflammatory and shocking decisions regarding the budget and other programs to society must be prevented. Also, urgent solutions to the origins of people’s demands from financial institutions, the fight against unconventional rights, the fight against economic corruption and the fight against the ineffectiveness of managers must be presented and implemented and if these mistakes are not resolved and subject to time lapse, the rioters will create new sedition on these platforms.”

About two weeks ago, some peaceful protests were held in Iranian cities against price hikes and the overall economic condition of the country. Limited numbers of violent individuals, some of them armed, later sought to turn the peaceful protests into street riots.
