Yemen Army Targets Riyadh Airport with Long-Distance Missile

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A spokesperson for the Yemeni army confirmed that the Arab country’s military forces targeted the King Khalid international airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by a long-range ballistic missile.

“Our Yemeni forces succeeded in launching a missile, a Borkan H2 long-distance missile, at the King Khalid international airport in northeastern Riyadh which was in response to the massacres committed by the US-Saudi coalition in Yemen,” Colonel Aziz Rashed said, according to al-Masdar News on Sunday.

“This comes in order to even out power between the coalition and Yemen, who have been attempting to fight more than one country in the past three years,” he added.

The Saudi regime also confirmed the missile attack.

After the Yemeni retaliatory attack, Saudi warplanes engaged in airstrikes on Yemen, hitting targets in the provinces of Sana’a and Sa’ada. The buildings of the Defense Ministry and the Interior Ministry and the National Security Council building were also hit during the latest airstrikes.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by the coalition for more than two and half years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, an ally of Riyadh.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
