{"id":11029,"date":"2017-11-06T12:57:26","date_gmt":"2017-11-06T12:57:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/?p=11029"},"modified":"2017-11-06T12:57:26","modified_gmt":"2017-11-06T12:57:26","slug":"pakistans-top-general-in-iran-for-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/pakistans-top-general-in-iran-for-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan\u2019s Top General in Iran for Talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3 class=\"lead\">TEHRAN (Tasnim) \u2013 Pakistan\u2019s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid an official visit to Iran for high-profile talks on various issues, including the common border security.<\/h3>\n<div class=\"story\">\n<p>The four-star Pakistani general was received by Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri in a formal ceremony in Tehran on Monday morning.<\/p>\n<p>In their one-on-one meeting, the two commanders are going to discuss closer military cooperation and the efforts to ensure security of the borders.<\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s top general has met many of his foreign counterparts in recent weeks to coordinate efforts in the fight against terrorism and maintain regional security.<\/p>\n<p>Islamabad has pledged efforts to dispatch Army troops to the joint border with Iran after a surge in the number of terrorist attacks on the Iranian border guards and security forces masterminded from inside Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>In one of the deadliest such attacks in April, armed militants killed 10 Iranian border guards who were patrolling along the border in Iran\u2019s Mirjaveh region.<\/p>\n<p>The so-called Jaish al-Adl terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TEHRAN (Tasnim) \u2013 Pakistan\u2019s Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid an official visit to Iran for high-profile talks on various issues, including the common border security.
