Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has called\u00a0US President Donald Trump’s “deal of the century” for the Palestinian territories a “satanic” plan, saying it is a non-starter.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Americans have named their satanic policy on\u00a0Palestine \u2018the deal of the century\u2019 but they should know that, by divine grace, this \u2018deal of the century\u2019 will never materialize,\u201d Ayatollah Khamenei said on Monday.<\/p>\n

According to an Israeli intelligence website,\u00a0Trump has proposed\u00a0to establish a Palestinian state with limited sovereignty over around half of the West Bank and Abu Dis as its capital.<\/p>\n

Trump’s\u00a0son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt, his special adviser for international negotiations, are reportedly the main architects\u00a0of the plan.<\/p>\n

“To the dismay of the enemies, the Palestinian issue will not be forgotten and al-Quds will remain the Palestinian capital,” the Leader told a group of officials in charge of the annual Hajj pilgrimage.<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Palestinian people will\u00a0stand against this “conspiracy,” and Muslim nations will support them.<\/p>\n

“Of course, some Islamic governments, which have no belief in Islam, have become ready-to-die followers of the Americans out of foolishness,\u00a0ignorance and temporal vanity,” the Leader said.<\/p>\n

“But by\u00a0divine grace, the Islamic Ummah\u00a0and the Palestinian people will win over their enemies\u00a0and see the\u00a0day when the roots of the fake Zionist regime will be ripped out of the Palestinian land,” he added.<\/p>\n

Sources with access to Trump\u2019s plan have told Israeli intelligence website\u00a0DEBKAfile that a Palestinian state would\u00a0be established with limited sovereignty across about half of the West\u00a0Bank\u00a0 and all the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n

The besieged sliver of land, they said, would\u00a0be integrated in the new state provided the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas agreed\u00a0to give up its arms.<\/p>\n

Real Hajj<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei said the most urgent need today is for the Islamic world to\u00a0become united and support Palestinians with one voice.<\/p>\n

The Leader touched on the coming Hajj season, saying the event should become an occasion to consolidate unity among Muslims.<\/p>\n

“One of the main goals of Hajj is that Muslims congregate and interact, actually for the obvious issue of\u00a0the formation of the Islamic Ummah,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.<\/p>\n

A real Hajj, the Leader said, is the one that includes the “disavowal of the infidels” on the one hand and paving the ground for unity and empathy among Muslims on the other.<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei warned of efforts by “ignorant and spiteful individuals” who are trying to insinuate the separation of religion and politics in the\u00a0minds of the youth.<\/p>\n

“Hajj is the best opportunity and a practical scene to demonstrate the unification of\u00a0religion and politics,” the Leader said.<\/p>\n

The Leader further said the Ka’aba to which Muslims turn five times a day to say their prayers as well as\u00a0Masjid al-Haram in Mecca and Masjid al-Nabi in Medina\u00a0belong to all Muslims, and not to those who dominate the land where those\u00a0most sacred Islamic sites\u00a0are.<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the Hajj disasters in 2015, calling them a “great injustice” in which thousands of pilgrims lost their lives and asking state officials to follow the cases.<\/p>\n

At least 465 Iranian pilgrims lost their lives during a\u00a0deadly crush, which occurred after two large masses of pilgrims converged at a crossroads in Mina near Mecca\u00a0on September 24, 2015.<\/p>\n

According to Iranian estimates,\u00a0about 7,000 people were killed in the incident which\u00a0came days after a massive construction crane collapsed into the Grand Mosque in Mecca, killing more than 100 people, including a number of Iranians.<\/p>\n

The head of Iran\u2019s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization has said\u00a0Saudi Arabia continued\u00a0to withhold all cooperation toward clarifying various aspects of the stampede and compensating the victims of the incidents.<\/p>\n

“The responsible authorities should pursue this in a variety of ways, especially international channels,\u00a0in order to establish a fact-finding\u00a0committee with the participation of the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Ayatollah Khamenei said.<\/p>\n

“In\u00a0these two catastrophes, the security and safety of the pilgrims was\u00a0the most important duty of the Saudi government which was not fulfilled\u00a0and the victims were not compensated,” he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
