Enemies have hatched dozens of plots against Iran, one of which has turned one of the neighboring countries into a base for creating insecurity in the Islamic Republic, Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri said in a speech in Tehran on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\u201cToday the whole world saw how Iran treated with these centers of corruption,\u201d he added, referring to the IRGC missile attack on terrorists in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.<\/p>\n
The recent missile attack was \u201ca small part of the story\u201d, the commander said, adding that it demonstrated the country\u2019s power of prudence as well as intelligence and mission command capabilities.<\/p>\n
\u201cEnemies should be aware that if such plots continue, Iran\u2019s Armed Forces will not keep silent,\u201d Major General Baqeri said.<\/p>\n
He went on to say that Iran has always been patient and sent warnings and messages, adding that however, if these plots continue, the country would have no choice but to act harshly.<\/p>\n
\u201cAccording to the United Nations Charter, we regard defending ourselves as our legitimate right and do not allow insecurity to enter our homes, our community and our country…,\u201d the top general noted.<\/p>\n
In a statement on Sunday, the IRGC confirmed that it had launched a missile attack a day earlier against a center in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region which was used for training anti-Iran terrorists and hosted a meeting of terrorist leaders.<\/p>\n
Over the past months, terrorist groups affiliated with global arrogance have taken hostile moves from inside the Iraqi Kurdistan Region against Iran\u2019s border areas, the statement said, adding that several terrorist teams have been dispatched to Iran to carry out acts of sabotage and upset security in Iran\u2019s western provinces of West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan and Kermanshah.<\/p>\n
Thanks to the IRGC\u2019s vigilance and preparedness, a number of operations were conducted over the past weeks which dealt heavy blows to the terrorists in Marivan and Kamyaran border regions, it said.<\/p>\n
Heads of the terrorist groups, however, did not heed the serious warnings from the Iraqi Kurdistan Region\u2019s authorities about Iran\u2019s resolve to destroy their bases and about the need for an end to their aggressive and terrorist activities, the statement added.<\/p>\n
Authentic reports indicate that the center of plot against the Islamic Republic has been destroyed in the missile attack and tens of leaders and major elements of the terrorist group have been killed and injured, it went on to say.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
