\nRNA \u2013 Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, the chairman of the Assembly of Experts and secretary of \u200ethe Guardian Council, expressed his condolences in a statement issued in regard to the \u200emassacre of his fellow countryman in the September 22nd terrorist attack in the \u200esouthwestern Iranian city of Ahvaz.\u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Terrorists opened fire on people watching a military parade held to mark the invasion of Iran \u200eby former Iraqi dictator Saddam Husyan during the 1980s.\u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The Saudi-backed al-Ahwaziyah terror group, which is based in Europe, has claimed \u200eresponsibility for the assault.\u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The text of Ayatollah Jannati\u2019s message is as follows: \u200e<\/p>\n

In the Name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful \u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The bitter and unfortunate terrorist attack in Ahvaz, which resulted in the martyrdom and \u200ewounding of a group of armed forces and innocent and dear people, is a source of intense \u200eheartfelt sorrow and pain. \u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This terrible crime, while proving the evil union between the mercenary terrorist groups, the \u200ereactionary governments of the region and the arrogant powers of the world centred on the \u200eUnited States, once again, demonstrated the legitimacy and state of oppression of the \u200ehonourable nation of Iran to the world on the anniversary of the prideful epic of the Sacred\u00a0 \u200eDefence [Iran-Iraq War].\u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

I convey my condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution [Ayatollah \u200eSayyed Ali Khamenei] and the honourable people of Islamic Iran, especially the survivors \u200eand families of the martyrs, and pray to God Almighty to grant full health to the wounded. I \u200edemand a serious security and judicial pursuit of the agents and planners of this terrorist and \u200einhumane incident by the responsible authorities.\u200e<\/p>\n

The malicious and arrogant officials and weak mercenaries know that this historical \u200eexperience is the testimony of the increasing dignity and solidarity of the Iranian nation \u200eagainst the masterminds of this events and the dignified period of the Sacred Defence is a \u200egift of the same solidarity and dignity which arose from the school of Ashura. \u200e<\/p>\n
