RNA \u2013 In a meeting with the organizers of a Qom-based Arba\u2019in al-Husayn station at his \u200eoffice \u200ein the holy city, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad-Ali Alavi-Gorgani said, \u201cGod \u200eAlmighty \u200ecalled Imam al-Husayn \u2018Thar Allah\u2019 which [literally] means the \u2018blood of God\u2019 and \u200ethis indicates \u200ethe fading of the essence of Imam al-Husayn into God Almighty.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

The revered source of emulation said, \u201cThis means that Imam al-Husayn sacrificed \u200e\u200eeverything that he had for God and the God Almighty will do everything that Imam al-Husayn \u200e\u200edemands in appreciation of the movement of this Imam. God Almighty also has placed \u200egreat \u200elove, passion and enthusiasm for this pilgrimage in the hearts of the people.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cThis meaning [of \u2018Thar Allah\u2019] was asked from the late Ayatollah Mohammad \u200eBahr al-Uloum and this \u200escholar responded in the same manner. Imam al-Husayn sacrificed \u200eeverything and in \u200eappreciation of his actions, God must give something to Imam al-Husayn \u200ewhich is equal to \u200ehis actions.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Alavi-Gorgani emphasized that we must take advantage of the opportunity of the \u200estopover in Qom of many pilgrims traveling to Karbala for cultural use in the best possible \u200emanner and \u200esaid, \u201cThe pilgrims on the way to participate in the Arba\u2019in al-Husayn pilgrimage \u200ehave prepared and \u200eclean hearts and are ready to accept religious and cultural teachings.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

His Eminence said, \u201cOn the day of Arba\u2019in, all these women and children embark on foot \u200e\u200etoward Karbala. This shows that God has ignited the heat of love for the Ahlul-Bayt and \u200e\u200eImam al-Husayn in the hearts of the believers and the lovers.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cArba\u2019in al-Husayn is a culture that must be kept alive so that Islam can live again.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

In the meeting, Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Hoseynzadeh noted that in the past two years, \u200e\u200e\u200e140,000 people from sixteen countries have been served by the Arba\u2019in Station in Qom \u200e\u200ebefore leaving for the Iraqi city of Karbala.\u200e<\/p>\n

It is estimated that this year, pilgrims from sixteen countries will again be served by the \u200e\u200eArba\u2019in Station in Qom. In the past few years, these pilgrims were housed in the Qods \u200ePrayer \u200eHall before they left for Iraq but this year, with the \u200ecooperation of the Holy Shrine of \u200eLady Fatimah al-Ma\u2019sumah, the pilgrims will be housed in \u200ethe Jawad al-Aimmah Courtyard for \u200ethree days. These pilgrims will be mainly from Pakistan.\u200e<\/p>\n

Referring to the fact that the Arba\u2019in Station in Qom is ready to host Iranian and non-Iranian \u200e\u200epilgrims, he said, \u201cMany foreign pilgrims, especially the Pakistani pilgrims, have travelled a \u200e\u200elong way and require rest and bathing facilities and thus, we have prepared a place of rest \u200e\u200efor these foreign pilgrims for three days and we have provided a one day place of rest for \u200e\u200eIranian pilgrims.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

Hujjat al-Islam Ahmad Hoseynzadeh added, \u201cWe increased the number of prominent \u200e\u200ePakistani speakers to provide promotional and cultural services along with welfare \u200eservices \u200efor these pilgrims.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

The Arba\u2019in of Imam al-Husayn is commemorated on the 20th day of Safar in the Hijri Lunar \u200e\u200ecalendar and it is the anniversary of the fortieth day after the Battle of Karbala when Imam \u200e\u200eal-Husayn and his companions were martyred on the Day of Ashura (Muharram 10, 61 \u200e\u200eAH\/October 13, 680). It is reported that the captives of the Battle of Karbala came to visit \u200e\u200eImam al-Husayn in Karbala on 20th of Safar 61 AH (November 22, 680) on their return from \u200e\u200eSyria to Madinah.\u200e<\/p>\n

Since the pilgrimage of Arba\u2019in has been strongly recommended, Shi\u2019ah, especially the Shi\u2019ah \u200eof \u200eIraq, move towards Karbala every year on the occasion of Arba\u2019in. This procession, which \u200eis \u200eusually made on foot, is considered as one of the most crowded gatherings of people in \u200ethe world.\u200e<\/p>\n
