RNA \u2013 Every year, millions of sincere lovers of Imam al-Husayn travel to his holy shrine in \u200ethe holy Iraqi city of Karbala for the Arba\u2019in pilgrimage. News and reports of the reception of \u200ethe Iraqi people for the pilgrims of Imam al-Husayn during the days of Arba\u2019in have been \u200epublished in various news agencies. But it is also a fact that the people of Qom also enjoy \u200ereceiving the pilgrims and the people of this city have welcomed the pilgrims visiting from \u200edifferent countries in the city\u2019s Musalla (Prayer Hall).\u200e<\/p>\n

According to Mr. Allahyari, the executive director of the international section of the \u200ewelcoming committee for the Arba\u2019in pilgrims in Qom, said, \u201cThis year, pilgrims from various \u200ecountries such as Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan and Afghanistan have come to Qom before \u200eheading to Karbala, and they have been the guests of Lady Fatimah al-Ma\u2019sumah.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

The Musalla of Qom has taken on the current climate and atmosphere of Karbala. Just as on \u200ethe roads leading to Karbala, various booths have been established to meet the needs of \u200ethe pilgrims which give out free food, tea and even repair the pilgrims\u2019 shoes. \u200e<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

According to Mr. Allahyari, since the largest number of Arba\u2019in pilgrims present in Qom are \u200ePakistani Shi\u2019ahs, a booth for the preparation of Pakistani food has been established in the \u200eMusalla and its cooks are Pakistani seminarians from al-Mustafa International University. \u200e<\/p>\n

Alongside the Iranians who are volunteering to serve the pilgrims, including the Basij \u200evolunteer forces, many non-Iranian seminarians are also serving the pilgrims in the Musalla. \u200eThe sincere Pakistani and Afghani seminarians in Qom constitute the largest number of non-\u200eIranian servants and there are also two Russian seminarians serving the pilgrims as well \u2013 \u200eRasim and Ismail, who converted to Islam and are now students of al-Mustafa International \u200eUniversity.<\/p>\n

Ismail stated that when Arba\u2019\u012bn is spoken of, perhaps the first thing to come to mind is the \u200elarge number of pilgrims, which is a matter that is censored in the Western media and said, \u200e\u200e\u201cSince the Western media censors the huge number of those participating in the pilgrimage, \u200eWestern audiences cannot understand the purpose of such a massive gathering and because \u200eIslam has only been introduced to them through Daesh, the Western media censors any \u200enews about Arba\u2019in.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

Rasim also said that murder and killing news are more appealing to Western audiences but \u200enews about religious events is unattractive to them.\u200e<\/p>\n

Ismail noted that on the path toward Karbala, there are people who, despite being destitute, \u200esacrifice all their belongings to receive the pilgrims and added, \u201cThis is due to the culture of \u200egenerosity and sacrifice of Shi\u2019ism, as well as the love of the Ahlul-Bayt. Shi\u2019ahs have been \u200enurtured in this culture from the time they were children to sacrifice themselves and help \u200eeach other.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

In regard to the relation between the Arba\u2019in pilgrimage and the advent of Imam al-Mahdi, \u200eIsmail said, \u201cIn a hadith, it\u2019s said the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi is dependent on the \u200ereadiness of the people. The Arba\u2019in pilgrimage is one of the signs of the readiness of the \u200epeople for reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi. When people are ready for this pilgrimage, they \u200ewill be ready to gain knowledge about the Imam al-Mahdi and his reappearance. Thus, God-\u200ewilling, the reappearance is near.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

Ismail added that followers of other religions and denominations also participate in the \u200eArba\u2019in pilgrimage, including Sunnis and even Christians and said, \u201cThis pilgrimage is a \u200edemonstration of love, something that is spoken about in Christianity, but is less seen in the \u200eWest today.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
