Prophet Hud (a) <\/span><\/p>\n

A long time ago,
\na great tribe lived in the
\nSouth of Arabia.
\nThey were called Ad.
\nThey were very clever and
\ncould do many things.
\nThey used the mountains
\nfor their homes.
\nThey carved out great mansions
\nwith wonderful pillars.<\/span><\/p>\n

They called their city Iram.
\nIt was very famous.
\nAs time went on,
\nthe people of Ad
\nthought more about themselves
\nand less about Allah.
\nThey thought they
\ndidn’t need Allah,
\nbecause they had
\nlots of money
\nand power.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prophet Salih (a)<\/span><\/p>\n

The people of Thamud
\nlived in a valley
\ncalled al-Hajr
\nin the north of Arabia.
\nIt was a good land
\nso everything grew very easily.
\nCattle and sheep grazed
\non the land.<\/span><\/p>\n

Everyone
\nhad plenty of everything.
\nWhen people have a lot
\nthey sometimes forget
\nwho provides everything,
\nthey sometimes forget Allah.
\nWhen this happens
\nAllah sends a messenger
\nor a prophet
\nto try to help the people.<\/span><\/p>\n

To the people of Thamud,
\nAllah sent Salih.
\nSalih told the people
\nto remember Allah
\nbut a lot of people just
\nlaughed
\nat him and would
\nnot listen.<\/span><\/p>\n

He did not give up.
\nHe still tried to persuade
\nthem to worship Allah
\nand soon people
\nbegan to listen.
\nThey realised Salih was right.
\nThe leaders of Thamud
\nwere upset by this.<\/span><\/p>\n

They did not want people
\nto listen to Salih.
\nThey did not believe Salih
\nwas sent by Allah.
\nThey wanted him to prove it,
\nthey wanted a sign.
\nThey told Salih
\nto bring them a camel
\nbut it had
\nto be a
\nspecial camel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salih prayed to Allah
\nand Allah sent
\nthe special camel.
\nThe camel gave lots and
\nlots of milk so all the poor
\npeople had enough to drink,
\nand they were very happy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The leaders of Thamud
\nbecame
\nangry again to see Salih
\nand his followers so happy.
\nThey decided
\nto kill the camel.
\nSalih told them that Allah
\nwould punish them.<\/span><\/p>\n

Salih took all the good people
\naway from the valley.
\nA terrible earthquake came
\nand destroyed the valley
\nand all the bad people.
\nIf they had listened to Salih
\nthey would have been saved.<\/span><\/p>\n
