Prophet Ibrahim (a)<\/span><\/p>\n

Ibrahim married a girl
\ncalled Sarah. They lived
\nvery happily in Palestine.
\nThey worked and had
\nplenty of everything.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ibrahim became very
\nwealthy, but he was
\na good man. He
\nalways helped
\nother people too.<\/span><\/p>\n

After many years Ibrahim
\nand Sarah still had no
\nchildren. This made
\nthem very sad. They
\nboth wanted a
\nchild to share
\ntheir life with.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sarah told Ibrahim
\nthat he should marry
\nher servant Hajar too,
\nso that Ibrahim and
\nHajar could make a
\nchild together.<\/span><\/p>\n

Prophet Ismail (a)<\/span><\/p>\n

After a while Ibrahim
\ndid marry Hajar and
\nshe had a son.<\/span><\/p>\n

They called him Ismail.
\nThey were all very
\nhappy.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ibrahim, Hajar and Ismail
\nmoved to a valley in
\nArabia. They settled in
\na good place with hills
\nand mountains on all
\nsides to protect them.<\/span><\/p>\n

After a while Ibrahim
\nsaid that he should go
\nback to see Sarah and
\nto get more food and water.
\nBefore he left he prayed
\nto Allah to look after
\nhis wife and son because
\nthey did not have much
\nfood and water left.<\/span><\/p>\n

The food and water
\nsoon began to run low.
\nHajar was very worried. What
\ncould they live on?
\nThey prayed to Allah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hajar went to the top of
\nthe mountain, Mount Safa,
\nto look for Ibrahim.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now their water was all gone
\nand they were desperate.
\nShe went to the other
\nside of the valley and
\nclimbed to the top of Mount
\nMarwa. She looked towards
\nthe North, East, West and
\nSouth for help but found
\nnone.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hajar kept running
\nbackwards and forwards
\nbetween Mount Safa and
\nMount Marwa.
\nShe did this seven times.
\nSuddenly she saw
\nIsmail kick the ground
\nwith his heel.
\nA spring of water gushed
\nout – beautiful, pure water,
\nthey were saved.<\/span><\/p>\n

Even today this water, called
\nZamzam, still flows in the
\nValley of Hijaz and when
\npeople go to Makkah on Hajj
\nthey go seven times between
\nthe two mounts in memory
\nof this miracle that saved
\nthe lives of Hajar and Ismail.<\/span><\/p>\n

When Ibrahim returned he was
\namazed to see the valley.
\nThe water had made the place
\nvery fertile. All the animals
\nand caravans visited and
\nmade it a prosperous place.<\/span><\/p>\n
