Prophet Yaqub (a) & Prophet Yusuf (a)<\/span><\/p>\n

Yaqub was also
\nknown as Israil.<\/span><\/p>\n

Israil’s children could
\nsee that Yusuf was their
\nfather’s favourite. This
\nmade them very jealous.
\nThey became so jealous,
\nsome of them actually
\nwanted to kill him.<\/span><\/p>\n

The jealous brothers
\nfinally decided
\nto throw Yusuf
\ninto a deep well.<\/span><\/p>\n

They went to Israil, their
\nfather, to ask if they could
\ntake Yusuf out with
\nthem; they said they would
\nteach him to be a good
\nshepherd. Israil would
\nnot let Yusuf go because
\nhe thought the others
\nwere planning to do
\nsomething bad.<\/span><\/p>\n

One day Yusuf went to
\nIsrail and said that he
\nhad had a strange dream.
\nIn the dream Yusuf
\nhad seen the sun, the
\nmoon and eleven stars
\nbowing down to him!<\/span><\/p>\n

Israil felt that
\nthe dream had a
\nmessage, Yusuf was
\ngoing to have a
\ngreat future. He
\ntold Yusuf not to
\ntell his brothers
\nabout the dream.<\/span><\/p>\n

Israil’s son were
\nstill thinking of their
\nplan to kill Yusuf.
\nThey pestered Israil
\nto let them take
\nYusuf with them
\nto their work.<\/span><\/p>\n

At last Israil agreed,
\nbut he made them promise
\nto look after him.
\nThey were so bad they
\nknew they would break
\ntheir promise.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the end of the day
\nthey asked Yusuf to take
\noff his shirt. They killed
\na sheep and put blood all
\nover Yusuf’s shirt; then they
\nthrew Yusuf into a well.<\/span><\/p>\n

They went home and
\nshowed the shirt to Israil.
\nPretending to be very upset;
\nthey told their father that Yusuf
\nhad got left behind and a
\nwolf had eaten him!<\/span><\/p>\n

Israil was very
\nupset but he
\ndid not believe
\nthe story.
\nHe knew that one
\nday Allah would
\nbring Yusuf back
\nto him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Poor Yusuf spent the
\nnight in the well.
\nThe next morning, when
\nsomeone put the
\nbucket down the
\nwell to get water,
\nhe sat in the bucket.<\/span><\/p>\n

The man had to get help
\nto pull the bucket up.
\nHe was very surprised to see
\na boy in it.
\nThe man was a merchant.<\/span><\/p>\n

The merchant decided
\nto take Yusuf with
\nhim to Egypt and to
\nsell him as a slave.
\nWhen they arrived in
\nEgypt, one of the noble
\nfamilies bought Yusuf.<\/span><\/p>\n

The man who
\nbought him told
\nhis wife that they
\nshould take care of
\nhim, as he was a
\ngood-looking child
\nand they had no
\nchildren of their own.
\nYusuf became one
