Prophet Yusuf (a)<\/span><\/p>\n

The Pharaoh of Egypt
\ncalled Firawn had many
\npeople working for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of his assistants had
\na very wicked wife who
\nsaid many things about
\nYusuf that were quite
\nuntrue. She thought
\nshe loved him but he
\ntold her that she should
\nhonour her husband.<\/span><\/p>\n

She became very angry
\nand persuaded her
\nhusband to have Yusuf
\nput in prison.<\/span><\/p>\n

While he was in prison,
\nYusuf used to tell everyone
\nwhat their dreams meant
\nand his explanation of the
\ndreams always came true.<\/span><\/p>\n

Allah had given Yusuf
\nthis great gift.<\/span><\/p>\n

Firawn kept
\nhaving a strange dream
\nand none of his wise men
\ncould explain what it meant.
\nThen Firawn heard of
\nYusuf’s great gift and
\nsent for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yusuf would not leave
\nthe prison until he had
\nproven his innocence.
\nFirawn had an inquiry
\nand discovered that Yusuf
\nreally was innocent, so
\nhe was able to leave prison.<\/span><\/p>\n

Firawn’s dream was most
\nunusual. In it, he saw
\nseven skinny cows eat
\nseven big fat ones and
\nthere were seven skinny
\nears of wheat and
\nseven fat ears of wheat.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yusuf explained that
\nthis meant there would
\nbe seven years of plenty
\nbut seven years of famine
\nwould follow, when there
\nwould be no water and
\nno food for anyone.<\/span><\/p>\n

After that there would
\nbe a year of rain.
\nFirawn liked and trusted
\nYusuf so he put him in
\ncharge of all the store houses
\nin the land.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yusuf had worked himself
\nup to a very powerful position.
\nAllah always rewards
\ngood people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yusuf worked hard; he
\nmade sure the store houses
\nwere filled with wheat and
\ngrain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just as he had said,
\nthere were seven years
\nof plenty. Those years
\npassed very quickly.
\nSoon the seven years of
\nfamine came. The crops
\nfailed. People were
\nhungry. Others were
\nstarving.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yusuf had planned for
\nthis. He opened his
\nstores and let everyone
\nhave some of the wheat.
\nBack in Palestine,
\nIsrail too was facing
\na hard time with
\nno food for his family
\nor the animals.<\/span><\/p>\n

He sent his sons to
\nEgypt to get grain from
\nthe famous treasurer of
\nEgypt. When they arrived
\nthey were told that they
\nmust get permission from
\nthe governor to buy grain.<\/span><\/p>\n

They went to see him, but
\ndid not realise that the
\nfine man, in splendid robes was
\nreally their brother. He told
\nthem they could have some
\ngrain, but if they wanted
\nany more, they would have
\nto come with their youngest
\nbrother and parents.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yusuf had recognised them
\nstraight away and he longed
\nto see his father, mother
\nand young brother Benjamin
\nagain.<\/span><\/p>\n

Eventually the eleven
\nbrothers returned with
\ntheir mother and father.
\nThey bowed down before Yusuf.
\nYusuf put his father on his
\nthrone and reminded him of
\nthe dream he had had so long ago.<\/span><\/p>\n

The sun, the moon and
\neleven stars had bowed
\ndown before him just as
\nhis father, mother and
\nbrothers had done at this
\nmeeting, This was a great
\nmoment in his life
\nand he thanked
\nAllah, for all He
