Dozens of Saudi-sponsored militiamen loyal to Yemen’s former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi\u00a0have lost their lives when Yemeni army soldiers and fighters from allied Popular Committees\u00a0launched a series of separate bomb attacks against their positions in the kingdom\u2019s border regions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The media bureau of the Houthi Ansarullah movement<\/a>, citing an unnamed Yemeni military source, reported on Monday that Yemeni troops and their allies\u00a0detonated a number of explosive devices in the Jabal al-Qais mountainous area of Jizan, killing 24 Saudi mercenaries in the process.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in Najran region, located 844\u00a0kilometers\u00a0south of the Saudi capital Riyadh, dozens of Saudi-paid militiamen were killed by Yemeni forces\u2019 attack on their positions.<\/p>\n

Yemeni soldiers and their soldiers infiltrated militia-controlled areas on the outskirts of al-Sadis\u00a0military base, setting off several bombs that killed dozens of Saudi mercenaries as a result.<\/p>\n

Separately, a number of Saudi mercenaries were killed or injured when Yemeni forces launched a barrage of artillery rounds at their gatherings in Asir region in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of\u00a0bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crushing Ansarullah.<\/p>\n

According to a new report by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, the Saudi-led war has so far claimed the lives of around 56,000 Yemenis.<\/p>\n

The Saudi-led war has also taken a heavy toll on the country\u2019s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories. The UN has already said that a record 22.2 million Yemenis are in dire need of food, including 8.4 million threatened by severe hunger. According to the world body, Yemen is suffering from the most severe famine in more than 100 years.<\/p>\n

A number of Western countries, the US and Britain in particular, are also accused of being complicit\u00a0in the ongoing aggression as they supply the Riyadh regime with advanced weapons and military equipment as well as logistical and intelligence assistance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
