(Photo by AFP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"item-text\">\n<p><strong>Dozens of Saudi-sponsored militiamen loyal to Yemen&#8217;s former president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi\u00a0have lost their lives when Yemeni army soldiers and fighters from allied Popular Committees\u00a0launched a series of separate bomb attacks against their positions in the kingdom\u2019s border regions.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ansarollah.com\/archives\/230565\">media bureau of the Houthi Ansarullah movement<\/a>, citing an unnamed Yemeni military source, reported on Monday that Yemeni troops and their allies\u00a0detonated a number of explosive devices in the Jabal al-Qais mountainous area of Jizan, killing 24 Saudi mercenaries in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere in Najran region, located 844\u00a0kilometers\u00a0south of the Saudi capital Riyadh, dozens of Saudi-paid militiamen were killed by Yemeni forces\u2019 attack on their positions.<\/p>\n<p>Yemeni soldiers and their soldiers infiltrated militia-controlled areas on the outskirts of al-Sadis\u00a0military base, setting off several bombs that killed dozens of Saudi mercenaries as a result.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/217.218.67.233\/\/photo\/20190304\/f3dd51ac-5dbc-4ef1-839e-13f28ca68d19.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"312\" \/><figcaption>Yemeni soldiers loyal to the Houthi Ansarullah movement line up during a graduation ceremony for a new batch of cadets in the northwestern city of Sa\u2019ada on March 2, 2019, in a show of support against the Saudi-led intervention in the country. (Photo by AFP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Separately, a number of Saudi mercenaries were killed or injured when Yemeni forces launched a barrage of artillery rounds at their gatherings in Asir region in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of\u00a0bringing the government of former Yemeni president Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and crushing Ansarullah.<\/p>\n<p>According to a new report by the Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, the Saudi-led war has so far claimed the lives of around 56,000 Yemenis.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/217.218.67.233\/\/photo\/20190304\/203b1733-7364-4da2-947a-7325d3321dd9.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"312\" \/><figcaption>Fatima Hadi, a 12-year-old displaced Yemeni girl suffering from acute malnutrition, is treated at a hospital in Yemen&#8217;s northwestern Hajjah province, on February 25, 2019. \u00a0(Photo by AFP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Saudi-led war has also taken a heavy toll on the country\u2019s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories. The UN has already said that a record 22.2 million Yemenis are in dire need of food, including 8.4 million threatened by severe hunger.
