RNA \u2013 Speaking at the fifth session of a series of discussions on the exegesis of the Holy \u200eQuran held at Qom\u2019s Hojjatieh Seminary, Ayatollah Ja\u2019far Sobhani said out that in Surah al-\u200eBaqarah there are two verses regarding \u200ethe disbelievers and about twelve verses regarding \u200ethe hypocrites and said, \u201cThis is because the danger posed by the hypocrites is greater than \u200ethe danger posed by the disbelievers.\u201d\u200e

\nThe revered source of emulation emphasized that the danger posed by internal hypocrites is \u200efar greater than the danger posed by foreign enemies and said, \u201cThe disbelief of the enemies \u200eis known and the believers can easily confront them but the hypocrites appear in the \u200eclothing of friends and they have an inner hostility. For the same reason, they have imposed \u200ea greater danger.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

Stating that some exegists of the Quran \u200ehave said that about two thousand verses of the \u200eQuran about the hypocrites have been revealed, Ayatollah Sobhani noted, \u201cIn the Islamic \u200eRepublic, we have seen the dangers of the hypocrites that we haven\u2019t seen from the \u200edisbelievers and foreign enemies. The issue of the hypocrites must not be taken lightly.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

The teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom stated that believing in God and on the Day of \u200eResurrection makes mankind lovers in the cause of God and said, \u201cThe true believers go to \u200ethe frontlines of jihad without any excuses but the hypocrites always seek excuses and they \u200erefuse to go to the frontlines of jihad.\u201d\u200e

\nReferring to the fact that the hypocrites are always trying to stage the scenes, he said, \u201cThat \u200ethe hypocrites were near at the Prophet Muhammad during the Battle of Tabuk and received \u200epermission to stay in Madinah for false pretenses because there is no need for any kind of \u200eistikharah [prayer in which one asks God for guidance] in good work and the believer doesn\u2019t \u200ehesitate to engage in jihad on the way of God. Moreover, if you intend to go to war, you \u200eseek the preparation of equipment and personnel as much as possible before obtaining \u200epermission.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

Ayatollah Sobhani continued, \u201cIf the hypocrites went to the Battle of Tabuk, they would \u200ehave weakened the will of the Muslims which would have led to the defeat of the Islamic \u200earmy. Some Muslim people were impulsive and influenced by the words of the hypocrites. \u200eFor this reason, the Prophet granted them permission to stay in Madinah.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
