(Photo by AFP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>An unnamed Yemeni military source told the media bureau of the Houthi Ansarullah movement that Yemeni troops and their allies launched a drone strike against a gathering of Saudi mercenaries in Qaniyeh\u00a0area of the country\u2019s central\u00a0province\u00a0of al-Bayda on Saturday, leaving many of them dead or injured.<\/p>\n<p>Yemeni soldiers and fighters from Popular Committees also dealt a heavy blow to Saudi-backed militia forces in the al-Wazi&#8217;iyah district\u00a0of the southern province of Ta\u2019izz, when they struck their fortifications with a number of domestically-manufactured\u00a0ballistic missiles.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/217.218.67.233\/\/photo\/20190706\/99e1111e-65dc-4b90-afe4-d6114da88dfb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"312\" \/><figcaption>In this file picture, Yemeni forces launch a domestically-manufactured Zelzal-1 (Earthquake-1) ballistic missile at a military site in Saudi Arabia. (Photo by the media bureau of Yemen\u2019s Operations Command Center)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Elsewhere in the northern Yemeni province\u00a0of al-Jawf, Saudi mercenaries suffered a major setback when Yemeni soldiers and their allies targeted their military camps in Sabrin area of the Khabb wa ash Sha&#8217;af district.<\/p>\n<p>Also on Saturday, a civilian lost his life and seven others, mostly women and children, sustained injuries when Saudi-paid militiamen targeted residential neighborhoods in the western coastal city of Hudaydah.<\/p>\n<p>A civilian was killed after Saudi-sponsored forces launched a barrage of mortar shells at\u00a0Sawiq area in the al-Tuhayta district of Hudaydah province.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/217.218.67.233\/\/photo\/20190706\/6f74c4bb-fda6-4f91-9d64-b0cf146eb66f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"555\" height=\"312\" \/><figcaption>A malnourished Yemeni youth receives treatment at a hospital in the port city of Hudaydah on June 27, 2019. (Photo by AFP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of\u00a0bringing the government of Hadi back to power and crushing the Ansarullah movement.<\/p>\n<p>The US-based\u00a0Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization,\u00a0estimates\u00a0that the Saudi-led war has claimed the lives of over 60,000 Yemenis since January 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The war has also taken a heavy toll on the country\u2019s infrastructure, destroying hospitals, schools, and factories.
