RNA \u2013 Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem-Shirazi met with members of the Association of \u200eActivists Criticizing Wahhabism held at Qom\u2019s Imam al-Sajjad Seminary and said that the \u200eIslamic Seminaries are awake in opposition to the threat of Takfirism and Wahhabism.\u200e<\/p>\n

\nHe emphasized that the threat of Takfirism and Wahhabism is against all of humanity and \u200estated, \u201cAt the same time, one must wake up the Muslims that the Takfiris and Wahhabis \u200earen\u2019t the only enemies of the Shi\u2019ahs and followers of the Ahl al-Bayt.\u201d\u200e

\nAyatollah Makarem-Shirazi emphasized, \u201cAs the facts have become clear \u200eto many people \u200earound the world today, it has become easier to combat this ideology than \u200ebefore.\u200e”\u200e<\/p>\n

His Eminence considered the Takfiri and Wahhabi scholars to be at a very low level and \u200edescribed his discussions with some Wahhabi scholars in Saudi Arabia and said, \u201cWe \u200ediscussed issues with them in Madinah and they couldn\u2019t provide an answer to any of \u200eissues.\u201d\u200e

\nHe said that the method of Takfiri and Wahhabi argumentation is selecting verses from the \u200e\u200eHoly Quran and noted, \u201cWahhabis only resort to verses that are \u200ein accordance with their \u200egoals and desires, leaving out the rest of the verses.\u201d\u200e

\nReferring to the baseless Wahhabi claim that the Shi\u2019ahs believe in the \u200edistortion of the Holy \u200eQuran, Ayatollah Makarem-Shirazi stated, \u201cThe fact that the Quran hasn\u2019t been distorted is \u200eheavily emphasized in our exegeses and \u200ebooks. Whenever we provide proofs and answer \u200etheir questions, again they are \u200estubborn and insist on their false claims.\u200e\u201d\u200e

\nIn another part of his remarks, the renowned teacher in the Islamic Seminaries of Qom \u200eemphasized \u200ethat the end of Wahhabism is near and added, \u201cIf it weren’t for petrodollars and \u200eAmerican support, they would have disappeared. The end of Wahhabism is a reality, their \u200esurvival is due to support and petrodollars.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

He considered it as the scholars\u2019 duty to be a border guard between the religion and the \u200ebeliefs of the people and to safeguard the school of the Ahl al-Bayt and said, \u201cWahhabis \u200ewant to stir up the minds and thoughts of people in regard to Shi\u2019ahs and the followers of \u200ethe Ahl al-Bayt by faking a series of lies and one must be very careful in this regard.\u201d\u200e
