RNA \u2013 Speaking at the opening ceremony of the International Conference on Cultural \u200eDialogue on the Perspective of the Civilization of Iran and the Arab World held at the \u200eResearch Institute for Islamic Culture and Thought in Qom, Hujjat al-Islam Dr. Ali \u200eAbbasi said, \u201cToday we need more cultural dialogue than ever before.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

The rector of al-Mustafa International University continued, \u201cAt a time when division is \u200eemphasized and groups are trying to stir up conflicts, it\u2019s thanks to the people who \u200eplanned this important issue, namely cultural dialogue between Iran and the Arab \u200eworld, with the vision of a modern Islamic civilization because, along with the formal \u200ecommunication between Iran and our brotherly countries, strengthening entry into this \u200edialogue and cultural and scientific diplomacy is a necessity.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

He emphasized that the colonial powers have imposed a \u201cnew civilization\u201d on the \u200eIslamic world that differs from the common intellectual foundations of the people of the \u200eregion. This has led to serious alienation with the former civilization in the region \u200ebecause of the imposition of humanism against theism, a profit-oriented and \u200eindividualistic ideology as well as the separation of religion from the public realm.\u200e<\/p>\n

Hujjat al-Islam Abbasi added, \u201cAll these features of the new civilization are different \u200efrom the civilization that existed previously. The bitter product of the new civilization \u200efor the world is colonialism and one cannot separate colonial history from the history of \u200emodern civilization and is still has an effect today. This phenomenon is observed all \u200eover the world, including in our region.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

His Eminence argued that the creation of division is one of the negative effects of the \u200enew civilization and said, \u201cThe colonial masters attempted to separate the components \u200eof the Islamic civilization by creating false identities and they created contradictory \u200eidentities for the Arab, Turkish, and Iranian ethnicities which caused large components \u200eto become small in comparison to each other and today, we are still witnessing such \u200ecultural action.\u201d\u200e

\nHe continued, \u201cFor two centuries, there has been some awakening among Muslims to \u200ereturn to civilized identity and scholars have understood this pain and tried to bring the \u200eMuslim nations back to their former civilization. The Islamic Revolution of Iran is a \u200eturning point in rebuilding Islamic civilization in accordance with the needs of the time.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

Hujjat al-Islam Abbasi explained that the reconstruction and revival of Islamic \u200ecivilization is the most important goal of the Islamic Revolution and added, \u201cThe unity \u200eof the Muslim nations is the foundation of Islamic civilization. Scientific progress is the \u200efoundation for the creation of a new civilization and despite four decades of pressure \u200eand sanctions, we have witnessed that Iran has enjoyed scientific progress and growth \u200edue to this civilization.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

The Iranian scholar also referred to efforts to create division in the Muslim world and \u200esaid, \u201cThe Takfiri conspiracy isn\u2019t a small conspiracy and they assumed that they could \u200eensnare the Islamic world for dozens of years and that this would have many negative \u200econsequences for the region. However, we have not been completely freed from the \u200eTakfiri conspiracy and it\u2019s still being pursued in the Muslim world in order to fuel \u200epessimism.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

Hujjat al-Islam Abbasi added, \u201cThe Takfiri ideology is a major obstacle to the creation \u200eof a new Islamic civilization because an ideology which doesn\u2019t tolerate its Muslim \u200ebrothers and sisters can\u2019t build civilization with a global approach but rather, the \u200econdition for the creation of civilization is the emphasis on human values.
