Ayatollah Arafi said that the 9th of Dey is the symbol of the the insight and covenant of the \u200eummah with the late Imam Khomeyni and said, \u201cThe Iranian nation will demonstrate its glory \u200eon the 9th of Dey, the 22nd of Bahman and February 21st.\u201d \u200e<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
RNA \u2013 In his Friday prayer sermon to a large and fervent crowd of believers at \u200eQom\u2019s \u200eQods \u200e\u200e\u200e\u200e\u200e\u200e\u200e\u200e\u200ePrayer Hall, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi referred to the fortieth anniversary of the literacy \u200emovement in Iran and stated, \u201cThe literacy movement was started by the late Imam \u200eKhomeyni in 1979 and within forty years the literacy rate of the country has risen from 47% \u200eto almost 90% and for those below 50 years of age, the literacy rate is 98%.\u201d\u200e<\/p>\n

The head of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran commemorated the 9th of Dey [December 30th] \u200eepic, which marks the day when millions of people went to the streets on December 30, \u200e\u200e2009 to demonstrate their support for the Islamic establishment, and described this epic as \u200ea symbol of the insight and covenant of the ummah with the late Imam and said, \u201cIn 2009, \u200ewe faced an act of sedition that inflicted great damage on the country. The story began here \u200eand brought the principle of the election under question and there were allegations of fraud, \u200ea claim they could never prove.\u201d\u200e

\nHe said, \u201cOver the past forty years, various political factions and groups have come and \u200egone but it was unacceptable for anyone, through spite or deceit, to claim that there were \u200eten million fraudulent votes in 2009. The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution \u200e\u200e[Ayatollah Khamenei] raised the banner of defending the popular vote.\u201d\u200e

\nAyatollah Arafi noted, \u201cIf we question the elections and fail to submit to the law at all stages, \u200ewe will become a country that must always be at war. The elections will be pursued by law \u200eand through a formula that is repeatedly exercised and power at the level of the presidency, \u200ethe Assembly of Experts, the Islamic Consultative Assembly (parliament) and the councils \u200ehas been displaced.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

The jurisprudent member of the Guardian Council added, \u201cIn the recent riots, people came \u200eto the scene and deviated from the righteous demands of the people. The people had \u200equestions about the price of gasoline being suddenly tripled and hardships and expenses \u200ewere imposed on them but they had rights. But meanwhile, the evil Americans pursued their \u200eplans in Iraq and Lebanon, sought to break the Islamic Resistance and disintegrate their \u200eeconomies by creating insecurity for the Islamic Resistance Front. This was also pursued in \u200eIran and caused great damage to the country.\u201d\u200e

\nHe emphasized, \u201cThe great Iranian people endure hardships and express their criticism and \u200eobjections. It\u2019s their right to express their opinions regarding the elections and their election \u200eis correct but the world must know that despite all the difficulties, the Iranian people will \u200eovercome the obstacles through intelligence, insight and resistance through sharp eyes and \u200efirm steps and will put the sedition behind them and will triumph over the enemies of Islam \u200eand the Islamic Revolution through the grace of God.\u201d\u200e
