The member of the Society of Seminary \u200eTeachers of Qom emphasized the need for man to \u200edistance himself from self-conceit and egotism and said, \u201cSelf-conceit and egotism are \u200eamong the issues which lead mankind to perdition.\u201d\u200e<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n
RNA \u2013 In his ethics and exegesis lesson held at Qom\u2019s Ayatollah Golpaygani Seminary, \u200eAyatollah Mohsen Faqihi, a member of the Society of Seminary \u200eTeachers of Qom, referred \u200eto Imam Khomeyni\u2019s book \u201cForty Hadiths\u201d and said, \u201cOne of the points that the late Imam \u200eexplained is that self-conceit and egotism are among the issues which lead mankind to \u200eperdition.\u201d\u200e

\nThe head of the Dar al-Thaqalayn Wali al-Asr Institute referred to the origin of self-conceit \u200eand added, \u201cAccording to the late Imam, the source of self-conceit is love of one\u2019s self. For \u200ethis reason, sometimes a person does a minor and trivial deed but thinks that he has done \u200ethe greatest thing and even in some cases the situation becomes worse than this and man \u200edoes a bad or immoral deed but thinks he has done something good.\u201d \u200e<\/p>\n

He stated that man must not see his small works as substantial and explained, \u201cSometimes \u200esomeone justifies his bad deeds and thinks that he has done the right thing. He engages in \u200ebackbiting, slandering and lying and justifies it while these actions are wrong.\u201d\u200e

\nAyatollah Faqihi continued, \u201cOne must consider himself superior to others. Man should take \u200edivine satisfaction into consideration in all his work, not love of the self. If deeds are done \u200efor divine satisfaction only, their value will be infinite.\u201d\u200e

\nThe teacher in the Islamic Seminaries of Qom said that the late Imam Khomeyni was a great \u200eteacher of ethics and stated, \u201cAll of the Imam\u2019s behaviour and actions were a lesson in \u200eethics and religion and today, the seminarians must benefit from their tradition and make it a \u200epriority in their actions.\u201d\u200e

\nHe stated, \u201cAccording to the narrations, the arrogant and self-conceited are close to disbelief \u200ebecause only God is great and the pride is specific to the divine essence. Sometimes those \u200ewho are around others misguide and victimize them through their own unwarranted \u200edefinitions.\u201d\u200e

\nAyatollah Faqihi noted that after the death of Ayatollah Boroujerdi in 1961, many sought to \u200edeclare that they are a source of emulation, but Imam Khomeyni, despite his lofty position \u200eand great students, didn\u2019t enter the matter until his duty was fulfilled and added, \u201cThe late \u200eImam gained popularity in the world due to divine favour and due to the sincerity that he \u200ehad on the divine path and was respected by all. Today, people are even making pilgrimage \u200eto his grave on foot.
