{"id":18640,"date":"2020-03-11T08:18:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-11T08:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/?p=18640"},"modified":"2020-03-11T08:18:34","modified_gmt":"2020-03-11T08:18:34","slug":"iranian-healthcare-defenders-who-die-in-virus-fight-are-martyrs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/iranian-healthcare-defenders-who-die-in-virus-fight-are-martyrs\/","title":{"rendered":"Iranian healthcare defenders who die in virus fight are martyrs"},"content":{"rendered":"<section>\n<div class=\"row subtitle-box\">\n<div class=\"subtitle row\">Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has agreed to a proposal to consider as \u201cmartyrs\u201d medical personnel who have lost their lives in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in Iran, which has one of the highest numbers of infections outside China.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<section class=\"body row\">RNA &#8211; Ayatollah Khamenei on Tuesday agreed to the proposal put forth by Health Minister Saeed Namaki to designate as \u201cmartyrs in the line of duty\u201d the country\u2019s entire medical staff, including doctors and nurses, who have lost their lives in fighting to contain COVID-19, as the novel coronavirus is called.<\/p>\n<p>In his letter to Ayatollah khamenei, Namaki expressed gratitude to the Leader and wished health and success for the hardworking individuals who have endangered their lives to help the country get through this difficult time.<\/p>\n<p>As of Tuesday, 291 deaths have been confirmed from the virus. A total of 8,042 infections have been diagnosed. And 2,731 patients have recovered.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the infections have been reported in the provinces of Tehran, Mazandaran, Isfahan, Rasht and Qom, where the virus was first found.<\/p>\n<div data-oembed-url=\"https:\/\/www.presstv.com\/Detail\/2020\/02\/26\/619554\/www.presstv.ir\">The coronavirus initially emerged in China late last year and is now spreading in Europe and across the Middle East, sparking fears of a global pandemic.<\/div>\n<p>The illness, whose symptoms are fever, cough and difficulty breathing, may cause lung lesions and pneumonia.<\/p>\n<p>Since December 2019, over 114,510 people have been infected in several countries, with more than 4,020 deaths mostly in China.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has agreed to a proposal to consider as \u201cmartyrs\u201d medical personnel who have lost their lives in the fight against the coronavirus outbreak in Iran, which has one of the highest numbers of infections outside China.
