A prominent Kuwaiti political expert has denounced attempts by a number of Arab states to establish full diplomatic relations with Israel, describing normalization of ties with the Tel Aviv regime as a form of \u201cneocolonialism.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Dr. Abdullah al-Nefisi, in a post published on his Twitter page, said signing\u00a0of normalization agreements\u00a0between\u00a0Israel and Arab states will turn the latter into new colonies.<\/span><\/p>\n

Kuwait is apparently not going to follow in GCC footsteps in normalizing relations with the Israeli regime.<\/a><\/span><\/div>\n

On October 4, Kuwait\u2019s new emir Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad\u00a0al-Jaber\u00a0Al Sabah reiterated the kingdom\u2019s unswerving support for the Palestinian nation and their struggle for the liberation of\u00a0their\u00a0land\u00a0occupied by the Israeli regime.<\/span><\/p>\n

During a meeting with visiting Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh, Sheikh Nawaf said Kuwait would continue to follow in the footsteps of the late Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber Al Sabah, and will offer solid support to Palestine and its people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shtayyeh and other senior officials from the Palestinian Authority had arrived in Kuwait to offer condolences over the demise of Sheikh Sabah.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anti-Israel sentiment runs high in Kuwait. A poll conducted last year by the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, an American think tank, showed that 85 percent of Kuwaitis oppose normalizing ties with Israel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu signed agreements with Emirati Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Abdullatif Al Zayani in a US-brokered event hosted by President Donald Trump at the White House on September 15.<\/span><\/p>\n
