{"id":19379,"date":"2020-10-21T03:50:46","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T03:50:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/?p=19379"},"modified":"2020-10-21T15:38:54","modified_gmt":"2020-10-21T15:38:54","slug":"palestinian-detainee-rejects-israeli-bypass-offers-continues-battle-until-his-release-or-martyrdom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/palestinian-detainee-rejects-israeli-bypass-offers-continues-battle-until-his-release-or-martyrdom\/","title":{"rendered":"Palestinian Detainee Rejects \u00abIsraeli\u00bb Bypass Offers, Continues Battle Until His Release Or Martyrdom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Palestinian detainee Maher al-Akhras said he will continue his hunger strike and the demand for his immediate release.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The hunger-striking detainee rejected a verbal suggestion by the \u201cIsraeli\u201d entity\u2019s prosecutor to transfer him to the al-Maqased Hospital in occupied al-Quds [Jerusalem], provided that his administrative detention would not be renewed and he would be released at the end of November [11\/26\/2020].<\/p>\n<p>According to a statement released by the Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority, the \u201cIsraeli\u201d entity is trying to bypass al-Akhras\u2019 battle, which he aims to continue with an open-ended hunger-strike.<\/p>\n<p>It further demanded an end to the Palestinian hunger striker\u2019s arbitrary administrative detention and called for his immediate release to his home in Jenin.<\/p>\n<p>Hence, the Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority pointed to al-Akhras\u2019 worrying health condition which is deteriorating by the day, as he continues his hunger strike for the 85<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive day.<\/p>\n<p>Al-Akhras, according to the Prisoners and Executives Affairs Authority, suffers from a state of severe fatigue and is unable to move; his sense of hearing and speech had also been affected; he suffers from seizures of severe pain in various parts of his body, blurred vision and severe headache, amid fears of injury to one of his vital organs.<\/p>\n<p>Maher Al-Akhras [49 years old] was arrested by the \u201cIsraeli\u201d occupation authorities on July 27, 2020, and was transferred to administrative detention for four months. He declared a hunger strike from day one of his arrest as a refusal of the administrative detention.<\/p>\n<p>Two months after the hunger strike, the \u201cIsraeli\u201d entity\u2019s Supreme Court froze the decision of administrative detention without al-Akhras\u2019 release, which was rejected by the detainee.
