TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Parliament Speaker’s Special Aide for International Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said that the Saudi king Salman had better stop currying favor with Tel Aviv rather than forging allegations against Iran.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Amir-Abdollahian wrote on his Twitter account on Friday that the Saudi king, whose regime has invaded Yemen and has been abetting the American ISIL in Iraqi, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, had better respect its neighbors instead of ingratiating himself with the Israeli regime. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Saudi regime\u2019s King Salman bin Abdulaziz said that the world should take \u201ca decisive stance\u201d to address what he called \u201cIran\u2019s efforts to develop nuclear missile programs\u201d.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

In relevant remarks on Wednesday, Iranian Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Majid Takht Ravanchi called on the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to monitor the nuclear programs of both Saudi Arabia and Israel.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Takht Ravanchi made the remarks at a virtual meeting of the\u00a0UN General Assembly on Wednesday that endorsed the IAEA\u2019s annual report.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

He said it is \u201cof utmost importance\u201d for the IAEA to consider available information on Riyadh\u2019s nuclear activities, adding, \u201cIf Saudi Arabia is seeking a peaceful nuclear program, it should act in a very transparent manner and allow the agency\u2019s inspectors to verify its activities.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Additionally, he noted, the IAEA needs to take \u201can unbiased and professional approach\u201d toward Israel, which has refused to adhere to the agency\u2019s safeguards, is not a party to the\u00a0Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty\u00a0(NPT) and is widely believed to possess nuclear weapons.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Referring to Iran\u2019s cooperation with the IAEA, Takht-Ravanchi said Iran alone receives 22\u00a0percent of all the agency\u2019s inspections even during the coronavirus pandemic.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIran and the agency have agreed to work in good faith to resolve these safeguards-related questions,\u201d he stressed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
