TEHRAN (FNA)- Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Ray al-Youm newspaper, said that the recent missile strike by the Yemenis against a distribution station belonging to the Saudi Aramco oil company was a message to those who have compromised and normalized ties with Israel.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSaudi Arabia’s official acknowledgment that a missile fired by the Yemeni army and popular committees accurately targeted the Aramco oil facility in Jeddah (western Saudi Arabia) without injuring a single civilian is a strategic development in the Yemeni war,\u201d Atwan wrote on his twitter page on Tuesday.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

This development “changes all the existing equations, terrifies Tel Aviv and emphasizes that (these missiles will eventually) reach Tel Aviv, either from Sa\u2019ada (in Northern Yemen) or Gaza; this is a message to the compromisers that Israel cannot protect itself, let alone protecting you\u201d, he added.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Saudi Arabia’s state oil company Saudi Aramco said a Yemeni missile attack that targeted its distribution facility in the city of Jeddah on Monday caused major damage.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Abdullah al-Ghamdi, the manager of the North Jeddah Bulk Plant, told reporters during a tour of the facility on Tuesday\u00a0that one of the 13 tanks used for diesel oil, gasoline, and jet fuel at the facility had\u00a0been damaged and was out of service.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

“This tank, as you see, is hit from the top side… there is major damage to the roof itself, it’s a big hole that is almost two meters by two meters,” he said.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ghamdi added that the attack triggered an explosion and fire, “but it was controlled”,\u00a0He said the Monday\u00a0attack had caused no casualties.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The spokesman for Yemen’s Armed Forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said in a statement on Monday that the distribution station had been targeted with the Quds-2 type winged missile with high precision. He said the attack came in response to the ongoing Saudi military aggression and siege.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ghamdi said the attack had been “similar to what happened at Khurais and Abqaiq”,\u00a0referring to strikes on the two Saudi oil facilities in 2019.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
