{"id":27791,"date":"2021-12-01T12:28:49","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T12:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/?p=27791"},"modified":"2021-12-01T12:28:49","modified_gmt":"2021-12-01T12:28:49","slug":"iran-not-to-sacrifice-national-rights-for-fake-deadlines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/iran-not-to-sacrifice-national-rights-for-fake-deadlines\/","title":{"rendered":"Iran not to sacrifice national rights for fake deadlines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"item-summary\">\n<h3 class=\"summary introtext\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Iran has entered the 7th round of talks in Vienna with clear demands and proposals and is ready to engage as long as needed, but will not sacrifice the nation\u2019s rights for the sake of deadlines, senior Iranian diplomat said.<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"item-body\">\n<div class=\"item-text\">\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">\u201cThe Islamic Republic has come to Vienna with full seriousness and is negotiating with transparent demands and proposals,\u201d the source told Press TV on the condition of anonymity on Wednesday.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The country, the source added, \u201cstands prepared to continue intensive talks as long as needed, [but] it will not be ready to sacrifice its principled demands and the Iranian nation\u2019s rights for mere artificial deadlines or time tables.\u201d<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Envoys from Iran and the P4+1 group of countries \u2014 Britain, France, Russia, and China plus Germany \u2014 began on Monday the seventh round of the talks in the Austrian capital.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The following day, they participated in expert-level meetings of the working group formed to separately deal with the removal of US sanctions against Iran.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">On Wednesday, they also attended the meetings of another working group on nuclear issues.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The negotiations resumed after a five-month pause over Iran\u2019s presidential election and the formation of a new administration in the country.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Former US President Donald Trump left the JCPOA in May 2018 and re-imposed the anti-Iran sanctions that the deal had lifted. He also placed additional sanctions on Iran under other pretexts not related to the nuclear case as part of his \u201cmaximum pressure\u201d campaign.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Following a year of strategic patience, Iran decided to let go of some of the restrictions imposed on its nuclear energy program, resorting to its legal rights under the JCPOA, which grants a party the right to suspend its contractual commitments in case of a non-performance by the other side.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">The US administration of President Joe Biden had said it is willing to compensate for Trump\u2019s mistake and rejoin the deal, but it has retained the sanctions as leverage.<\/span><\/h3>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Iran says it won\u2019t settle for anything less than the removal of all US bans in a verifiable manner.
