This rule applies to all 114 surahs without exception.
Surat Al-Fātiḥah contains two words: iyyāka (You alone) and nastaʿīn (we seek help), which are found only in this surah. It is as though Allah wants to remind us in every rak‘ah in which we recite Al-Fātiḥah that seeking help is for Allah alone, the Almighty.
Surat Al-Baqarah contains 647 words unique to it that are not mentioned in any other surah (according to the original Uthmanic script of the Qur’an), such as: (al-khayṭ – its cucumbers – its garlic/wheat – its lentils – its onions…).
Surat Āl ʿImrān contains 289 words unique to it that are not repeated in any other surah, such as: (ḥaṣūran – dedicated/freed – let us invoke [mubāhalah]…), and so on, even the short surahs at the end of the Qur’an follow the same rule.
Surat Al-Ikhlāṣ contains three words unique to it: (al-Ṣamad – begets – is begotten). It is as though Allah, the Exalted, singled out this surah to affirm that He neither begets nor is begotten. Although the words “begets” or “is begotten” could have appeared in other surahs where the births of Jesus, Mary, Ishmael, Isaac, and John (peace be upon them all) are mentioned, these two words (yalid – yūlad) appear only in Surat Al-Ikhlāṣ, and in the form of negation, reminding us whenever we recite it that He neither begets nor is begotten.
As for the shortest surah in the Qur’an, Surat Al-Kawthar, which consists of only ten words, it contains five words unique to it that are not mentioned in any other surah: (We have granted you – Al-Kawthar – sacrifice – your enemy – cut off). The word “Al-Kawthar,” for example, could have appeared elsewhere, but Allah singled out this surah with this word and named it Surat Al-Kawthar.
One of the wonders of this rule is that the words unique to each surah express the theme and content of that surah and are not random.
The word “Quraysh” is mentioned in the entire Qur’an only in Surat Quraysh.
The word “Al-Maʿūn” is mentioned only in Surat Al-Maʿūn.
The word “Al-Falaq” appears only in Surat Al-Falaq.
The word “Al-ʿĀdiyāt” appears only in Surat Al-ʿĀdiyāt.
The word “Al-Humazah” appears only in Surat Al-Humazah.
The word “Al-Qadr” appears only in Surat Al-Qadr.
The word “At-Tīn” appears only in Surat At-Tīn.
The word “Al-Muṭaffifīn” appears only in Surat Al-Muṭaffifīn.
The word “Aṭ-Ṭāriq” appears only in Surat Aṭ-Ṭāriq.
The word “An-Nāziʿāt” appears only in Surat An-Nāziʿāt.
The word “Al-Mursalāt” appears only in Surat Al-Mursalāt.
The word “Al-Muddaththir” appears only in Surat Al-Muddaththir.
The word “At-Taghābun” appears only in Surat At-Taghābun.
The word “Adh-Dhāriyāt” appears only in Surat Adh-Dhāriyāt.
The word “Al-Aḥqāf” appears only in Surat Al-Aḥqāf.
The word “Jāthiyah” appears only in Surat Al-Jāthiyah.
The word “An-Naḥl” appears only in Surat An-Naḥl.
The word “An-Naml” appears only in Surat An-Naml.
The word “Al-ʿAnkabūt” appears only in Surat Al-ʿAnkabūt.
The word “Al-Fīl” appears only in Surat Al-Fīl.
The word “Al-Kahf” appears only in Surat Al-Kahf.
The word “Ash-Shuʿarā’” appears only in Surat Ash-Shuʿarā’.
The word “Luqmān” appears only in Surat Luqmān.
The word “Saba’” appears only in Surat Saba’.
The word “Mā’idah” appears only in Surat Al-Mā’idah.
Thus, every surah of the Noble Qur’an contains words related to its theme that are mentioned only within that surah—often the very name of the surah itself.
It is a miracle revealed today to establish proof against every arrogant disbeliever and to proclaim the truth that this Qur’an cannot be the speech of a human being and that no one can produce the like of it.
Allah, the Exalted, says:
“Say: If mankind and jinn gathered together to produce the like of this Qur’an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to assist one another.”
(Al-Isrā’ 17:88)

Scientists have discovered a linguistic law in the Holy Qur’an that applies to all surahs without exception.
