  1. Following the Path of Husayn (peace be upon him) \u2013 Dr. Ahmad Rassem Al-Nafis
    \n**Your arrogance toward me, your greed, and your attempt to override my opinion, compel me to resist leaving the obedience of the foremost people in leadership, the ones closest to the truth, and the most guided in path, and the nearest to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him and his family). Yet you command me to enter your obedience, the obedience of the farthest people from this matter, the ones devoted to falsehood, leading others astray, and distant from Allah Almighty and His Messenger (peace be upon him and his family), a means for misguided and misleading sons, a tyrant among the tyrants of Iblis. As for your claim that I am incapable before you in horse and foot, by Allah, I will not occupy you with myself until your soul becomes more important to you. You are indeed serious. Peace.\u201d (1)
    \nSecondly: Political Assassination
    \nThis appears in al-Tabari\u2019s History: \u201cAli al-Ashtar was sent as a commander to Egypt, and when he reached Qalzam, he drank a sip of honey in which was his death. Their report reached Mu\u2019awiya and Amr, and Amr said: \u2018Indeed, Allah has His soldiers in honey.\u2019\u201d (2)
    \nThirdly: Fabrication and Deception
    \nThis appears in al-Tabari\u2019s History: \u201cWhen Mu\u2019awiya despaired of Qays following him in his matter, this troubled him because of Qays\u2019 known firmness and strength. He publicly presented to people that Qays ibn Sa\u2019d had followed them, so they prayed to Allah and recited to them his book with reverence. Mu\u2019awiya then fabricated a letter from Qays and read it to the people of al-Sham.\u201d (3)

    \nFourthly: Raiding Civilians and Killing Women and Children
    \nIbn Jarir al-Tabari mentions in his history:
    \n1 \u2013 \u201cMu\u2019awiya directed Sufyan ibn Awf with six thousand men to reach \u2018Hayt\u2019 to cut it off and raid it, then continue to al-Anbar and al-Mada\u2019in to attack its people.\u201d (1)
    \n2 \u2013 \u201cMu\u2019awiya sent Abdullah ibn Mas\u2019ada al-Fazari with 1,700 men to Tayma, ordering him to collect charity from whoever he met among the people of the deserts, and to kill anyone who refused to give his due. Then he was to proceed to Mecca, Medina, and the Hijaz to do the same.\u201d (2)
    \n3 \u2013 \u201cMu\u2019awiya sent al-Dhahhak ibn Qays, ordering him to pass through Asfal and Aqsa, to raid anyone loyal to Ali among the Bedouins, and he took three thousand men with him. He seized people\u2019s wealth, killed those he met among the Bedouins, and passed through al-Thalabiya, raiding Ali\u2019s followers and taking their possessions. He then reached al-Qataqtana and attacked Amr ibn Amis ibn Mas\u2019ud, who was traveling with his family for pilgrimage, seizing those with him and preventing their movement. When Ali received this news, he sent Hajar ibn \u2018Adi al-Kindi with four thousand men, dividing them into groups of fifty, and they caught up with al-Dhahhak at Tadmor, killing nineteen of his men and two of his companions.\u201d
