Decades of broken promises, military aggression, and Israeli pressure have left Tehran with no reason to trust Washington, says a US-based analyst.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In an interview with the\u00a0Press TV website<\/em>, E. Michael Jones, author and editor of Culture Wars Magazine, said it would be \u201cfoolish\u201d to put \u201ctrust in a regime which violates its own word repeatedly,\u201d referring to the Donald Trump administration.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cIranians have learned their lesson and will not put themselves in jeopardy again. The US cannot be trusted,\u201d he noted.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mistrust is not a tactical posture but the logical outcome of experience, Jones said, adding that the United States, particularly under Trump, has demonstrated \u201cagain and again\u201d that it does not feel bound by its own international commitments.<\/strong><\/p>\n

That mistrust is sharpened by Trump\u2019s record on international obligations, he remarked.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The US-based journalist and commentator pointed to the unilateral withdrawal of the US from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in May 2018.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cTrump has already torn up the JCPOA. He would not feel bound by any agreement,\u201d he said, adding that this piece of history alone makes any future deal \u201cinherently fragile.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Jones also dismissed Israeli-backed demands to restrict Iran\u2019s missile range, calling them knowingly unrealistic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cA 300 km limitation on Iranian missiles is an impossible demand,\u201d he stated, adding that Israel is fully aware Iran would never accept such terms.<\/strong><\/p>\n

According to the analyst, these conditions are not designed to advance negotiations but to manufacture justification for war.<\/strong><\/p>\n
