The concepts, ethics, and divine guidance of the Qur’an must flow into our behavior, decisions, and social conduct. Acting upon even a single verse can lead a person toward salvation.”

Sudden Grief and Spiritual Influence

The cleric pointed to the spiritual dimensions of human emotions, noting that unprovoked waves of anxiety, despair, or negative thoughts may signal harmful spiritual influences.

“When sudden sorrow and baseless anxiety overwhelm the heart, it is a sign of satanic proximity,” he said. “In contrast, tranquility, hope, and clarity are signs of divine attention and the nearness of angels.”

Citing a narration from Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (PBUH), he recounted a tradition in which a man asked the Imam why he sometimes experienced unexplained sadness and, at other times, unexpected joy and serenity. According to the narration, the Imam explained that sorrow and disturbing thoughts stem from satanic influence, whereas calmness and hope reflect angelic presence.

Farahzad stressed that Satan operates by magnifying hardships and instilling fear of poverty and failure, thereby pushing individuals toward sin and moral deviation. “God, on the other hand, promises forgiveness, abundance, and relief,” he said.

Spiritual Remedies Against Temptation

The cleric also highlighted practical spiritual tools to counter negative thoughts and temptations. He warned that the world is filled with subtle traps designed to distract human beings from their divine purpose.

“The only path to safety,” he stated, “is seeking refuge in God and holding fast to the teachings of the Prophet’s Household.”

He reiterated that Satan seeks to intimidate people through fear of poverty and uncertainty about the future, driving them toward wrongdoing.
