A senior Shia cleric has emphasized the universal and timeless nature of the Holy Qur\u2019an, stating that its message transcends geography, history, and culture, offering guidance not only for Muslims but for all of humanity.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Hawzah News Agency<\/a>– In a video message delivered to the opening ceremony of the 33rd International Holy Qur\u2019an Exhibition, Grand Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli praised the global scope of the divine scripture, describing it as a book whose message is inherently universal and whose intellectual and spiritual banquet must likewise be accessible to the entire world.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf the Book is universal\u2014as it certainly is\u2014and if it carries a message for all humanity\u2014as it undoubtedly does\u2014then its intellectual and spiritual feast must also be universal,\u201d the senior scholar stated.<\/p>\n

Culture as the Only Timeless Common Ground<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli underlined that culture is the only phenomenon that remains shared across past and future generations. He explained that the Qur\u2019an addresses fundamental existential questions that concern every human being, regardless of time or place: Where has humanity come from? Where is it heading? What is the nature of the cosmos? What is the reality of the human soul and society?<\/p>\n

According to the cleric, the Qur\u2019an does not merely provide ritual or legal instruction, but presents a comprehensive worldview that defines humanity\u2019s position within the cosmic order.<\/p>\n

Two Dimensions of Qur\u2019anic Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Grand Ayatollah further elaborated that the Qur\u2019an introduces two categories of knowledge.<\/p>\n

The first includes conventional sciences and teachings referenced in the verse,\u00a0\u201cHe teaches them the Book and wisdom\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(2:129), encompassing jurisprudence, legal theory, ethics, and related disciplines that structure human society.<\/p>\n

The second category, however, represents a higher and exclusive dimension of knowledge\u2014truths that were neither accessible in the past nor attainable through ordinary intellectual advancement. Referring to the Qur\u2019anic verse,\u00a0\u201cAnd He teaches you what you did not know\u201d<\/em>\u00a0(2:151), Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stressed that even the Prophet of Islam, despite his unparalleled intellect and moral excellence, would not have accessed these realities without divine revelation.<\/p>\n

\u201cUnder this sky, apart from the Qur\u2019an, there exists no book that unveils these truths,\u201d he said, describing them as the \u201ceternal realities of human existence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Humanity as an Eternal Being<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his remarks, the senior scholar emphasized the Qur\u2019anic conception of the human being as an eternal entity. While the physical body perishes, he noted, the human soul embarks on an everlasting journey\u2014from this world to the intermediate realm (Barzakh), then to Resurrection and ultimately to Paradise.<\/p>\n

\u201cHumanity is an eternal being,\u201d he stated. \u201cAn eternal being requires an eternal culture.\u201d<\/p>\n

He explained that in the eternal realm there is neither temporal limitation nor spatial boundary, underscoring the necessity of divine guidance that transcends worldly constraints.<\/p>\n

Call for Knowledge-Based Islamic Institutions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli concluded by expressing hope that Islamic seminaries, universities, and intellectual institutions will fully embrace both dimensions of Qur\u2019anic knowledge\u2014benefiting from the teachings of \u201cthe Book and wisdom\u201d while also seeking the higher truths revealed through divine guidance.<\/p>\n

He prayed for the preservation of a knowledge-centered Islamic system under the guardianship of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), stressing that the Qur\u2019an remains humanity\u2019s ultimate source of enduring culture, moral clarity, and civilizational direction in an age of uncertainty.<\/p>\n
