The same can be observed in the case of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him), with the difference that divine decree ordained for him to attain the station of **Master of the Martyrs**, while Prophet Joseph (peace be upon him) rose to the position of **Aziz of Egypt**. Numerous reports from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) state that Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) would be killed as a martyr in the path of God, and that those who would kill him would claim affiliation with Islam. This foretelling reveals several matters:

First: The course of the Muslim community after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) would deviate from the path of truth. The community would lose its way, follow its whims, and depart from the values and principles of religion. Aggression against the sons of the prophets (peace be upon them) is evidence of the collapse of spiritual and moral values in society—especially against those whom the Qur’an declares purified from all impurity:
“Indeed, Allah only desires to remove impurity from you, O People of the Household, and to purify you completely” (Qur’an 33:33).

The Qur’an also proclaims verses recited throughout time commanding love and affection for them:
“Say: I ask of you no reward for it except love for my near relatives” (Qur’an 42:23).

Numerous narrations from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) emphasize the obligation of loving them—stating that loving them is loving him, that he is from them and they are from him, that loving them is faith and hating them is disbelief. He commanded the community to follow them because they are the counterparts of the Qur’an; they will never lead the community away from guidance nor return them to misguidance. Therefore, the Prophet’s foretelling of the martyrdom of the Master of the Martyrs, and that his killers would be misguided, clearly indicates the Prophet’s warning that the community would deviate from the straight path.

—

**In the Realm of the Husseini Epic (6)**
**Abdul Sattar Al‑Jaberi**

**The Effects of the Husseini Revolution (2)**

Second: Among the divine traditions governing human communities is the establishment of a guiding banner and a beacon of piety that stands as a barrier against deviation from the path of truth taken by a misguided nation. This divine tradition occurred in the Islamic community just as it did in previous nations. The Qur’an informs us that the Muslim community would deviate just as earlier communities deviated. The Qur’an and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) both indicated the guides who would come after him, and it is widely reported that the one who would carry the banner of guidance and drive a wedge into the path of deviation would be the Master of the Martyrs, Imam Husayn (peace be upon him).

For this reason, many texts liken Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) to Prophet Yahya (John), son of Zakariya (peace be upon them), who confronted the tyranny of the ruler and paid with his life. God then avenged him by the killing of seventy thousand of the Children of Israel until the boiling of his pure blood was stilled. Thus, the reform movement of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) within the Muslim community is part of the chain of divine decree and divine tradition in sending those who stand against deviation and return society to the path of righteousness—reviving within it the spirit of religion after it had been overtaken by the spirits of desire and misguidance.

Third: Uprightness and social deviation proceed side by side. Each has its leaders and guides—leaders who guide by God’s command and leaders who guide toward the Fire. The arena of their struggle is society itself. The leaders of guidance aim to save society from corruption in this world and punishment in the Hereafter, while the leaders of misguidance seek to corrupt society in this world in pursuit of their desires. As the Qur’an relates about Pharaoh:
“So he made his people light-minded, and they obeyed him. Indeed, they were a defiantly disobedient people” (Qur’an 43:54).

Thus, society is the battlefield between the two sides, and it ultimately determines the direction of social movement. Society itself bears the burden of either enabling the victory of tyrannical oppressors or allowing the triumph of truth in the reality of this struggle.

**In the Realm of the Husseini Epic (5–6)** **Abdul Sattar Al‑Jaberi** **Divine Ordainment of the Husseini Epic** After the preceding discussion about the role of divine planning in shaping individual and social movements in order to restrain the deviation of human society, we return to the revolution of Imam Husayn (peace be upon him) to …

[11

post-29700","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-culture-
["GET
