**\u201cWhoever says: \u2018O Lord, send blessings upon Muhammad and the Family of Muhammad\u2019 one hundred times, one hundred needs will be fulfilled for him \u2014 thirty for this world and the rest for the Hereafter.\u201d** <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&gt; *(al-Kafi, vol. 2, p. 493)*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong># The Etiquette and Character of the Prophet \ufdfa <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>**By Shaykh Muhammad Baqir al\u2011Majlisi** <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>*(From Bihar al\u2011Anwar, vol. 16 \u2014 translated and structured)*<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) was:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; The wisest of people <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; The most forbearing <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; The bravest <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; The most just <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; The most compassionate<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He never touched the hand of a woman who was unlawful for him. <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>He was the most generous of people.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Simplicity and Generosity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; No dinar or dirham would remain with him overnight.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; If anything remained and he could not find someone to give it to, he would not return home until he had given it away.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He only kept enough food for one year \u2014 simple dates and barley.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Whatever exceeded that he gave in the path of God.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He never refused anyone who asked him.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He would give from his yearly provision until he himself might need before the year ended.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Humility<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; He sat on the ground.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He slept on the ground.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He ate on the ground.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He patched his sandals.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He mended his clothes.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He opened the door himself.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He milked the sheep.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He tied and milked his camel.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He ground grain with the servant if the servant became tired.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He prepared his ablution water at night with his own hands.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He never sat reclining.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He served his family.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He cut meat himself.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He sat humbly while eating.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He licked his fingers after food.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He never belched.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He accepted invitations from free people and slaves alike \u2014 even for a simple meal.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He accepted gifts, even if only a sip of milk.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He did not eat charity (sadaqah).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Asceticism<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; He did not stare into people\u2019s faces.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He became angry only for God \u2014 never for himself.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He tied a stone to his stomach from hunger.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He ate whatever was present.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He did not reject available food.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He did not wear two garments of luxury.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Most of his clothing was white.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He wore a turban and shirt beginning with the right side.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He had a special garment for Friday.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; When he wore new clothing, he gave away his old garment to a poor person.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He wore a silver ring on his right little finger.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Personal Habits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; He loved watermelon and grapes.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He disliked foul smells.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He used the tooth-stick (siwak) regularly.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He rode horses, mules, and donkeys.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He sometimes rode a donkey without a saddle.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He allowed others to ride behind him.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He walked barefoot at times.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He attended funerals.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He visited the sick even at the far ends of the city.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He sat with the poor and ate with them.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He personally handed food to the needy.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He honored people of virtue.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He maintained ties of kinship without giving them unjust preference.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He accepted apologies.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He smiled frequently unless receiving revelation or delivering admonition.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He sometimes laughed \u2014 but without loud laughter.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Gentleness<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; He never cursed a woman or a servant.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; If someone was blamed in his presence, he would say: **\u201cLeave him.\u201d**<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; If anyone \u2014 free or slave \u2014 came with a need, he would stand with them until their matter was resolved.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He was not harsh, loud, or rude in the marketplace.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He did not repay evil with evil \u2014 rather, he forgave.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He greeted first.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; Whoever held his hand, he would not withdraw until the other did.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; When meeting a Muslim, he began with a handshake.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He never sat or stood except in remembrance of God.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Conduct in Gatherings<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; He sat wherever space allowed.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He usually faced the qiblah.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He honored guests, sometimes spreading his garment for them to sit on.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He offered his cushion to visitors.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; In pleasure and anger he spoke only truth.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; If someone approached him during prayer, he shortened it and turned to them, asking: <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>**\u201cDo you have a need?\u201d**<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>## His Food Preferences<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; He liked cucumber with fresh dates and salt.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; His favorite fruits were watermelon and grapes.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; His common food was water and dates.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He combined milk and dates and called them \u201cthe two good things.\u201d<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He loved meat.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He ate tharid (bread soaked in broth with meat).<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He liked pumpkin.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He ate hunted meat but did not hunt himself.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; He ate bread with butter.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; From the sheep he preferred the foreleg and shoulder.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; From condiments he liked vinegar.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; From dates he liked \u2018ajwah.<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; From herbs he liked chicory and basil-like greens.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8212;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong># Spiritual Reflection<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>This portrait shows a Messenger who combined:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8211; **Spiritual intensity** with <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; **Personal humility** <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; **Material detachment** with <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; **Social warmth** <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; **Leadership authority** with <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>&#8211; **Servant-like simplicity**<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>He embodied:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\\[<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\\text{Power without arrogance} \\quad + \\quad<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\\text{Wealth without attachment} \\quad + \\quad<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\\text{Authority without pride}<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>\\]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>And as reported:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>&gt;
