In doing so, we draw from the source of guardianship and from the guidance of the Leader of the Muslims, Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure.

—

## The Slogan of Confronting Arrogance

Some may ask: Why slogans? What is the purpose of raising slogans against arrogance, such as “Death to America” or “Death to Israel”? Will such slogans solve the problem and end their historical ambitions in our lands and resources? Can they serve as a strong barrier against the multifaceted waves of aggression?

Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, answers this question:

> “The slogans raised in any country and under any system are of great importance. The way a nation and its officials deal with slogans is a sensitive and significant matter. If the people or the officials do not know how to deal with slogans properly, they will suffer serious harm.
>
> Sometimes we hear some people say: today is not the time for slogans but the time for action. This statement is incorrect, although some who say it may have sincere intentions. What they mean is that a country cannot be managed by slogans alone—and that is true. Slogans alone cannot reform a country; they cannot even manage a village or build it. Work must accompany slogans.
>
> However, some interpret this statement—out of naivety—or others interpret it intentionally in another way, as if they want to suggest to the people that slogans should be abandoned. This is a mistake. A slogan is like a banner: it guides and directs. Work without a slogan is like a slogan without work.
>
> For a nation to know its path and what it must do, it must preserve its slogans clearly and openly. If slogans are lost, it becomes like a group of people walking in a desert without guidance. The distinctive feature of a slogan is that it prevents a nation or a country from moving along a deviant path. Therefore let this also be our slogan: slogan and action—slogan alongside action, and action under the guidance of the slogan.”

Reference:
1. National Day of Confronting Global Arrogance (13 Aban), 17 Jumada al‑Thani 1417 AH — Tehran.

—

## Confronting Arrogance Is Natural

Some simple‑minded people think that Islamic nations invent hostility toward arrogant states such as the United States. This view is extremely naïve. The hostility actually stems from those powers’ own actions—through their attempts to undermine everything connected with our culture and their persistent efforts to seize our economic resources.

Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, addresses such people:

> “Some simple‑minded individuals utter certain words or write things asking: why are you like this toward America? Until when? Why? These people do not understand what is happening in the world, nor do they understand the expectations of this arrogant, ignorant, and irrational enemy that seeks more than its rightful share. They imagine that our problems will end as soon as negotiations with America begin.
>
> No, the issue is not like that. American leaders officially declare their readiness to negotiate with Iran—but why negotiations? It is clear that they seek through negotiations to find an opening through which they can exert pressure on the Islamic system. That is the purpose of their negotiations.
>
> We have nothing with you and no need for you. We do not fear you, nor do we feel any affection for you.
>
> You are the ones who shot down our civilian airplane in broad daylight before the eyes of the world with a false and baseless excuse, killing dozens of innocent people—and you never even apologized.
>
> What kind of system is this? What kind of culture is this? How could anyone feel affection for such a system? There is absolutely no relationship of love, friendship, or goodwill between us and the Americans. Rather, it is a relationship of hatred and disgust from our side, and hostility and malice from theirs.”

Reference:
2. National Day of Confronting Global Arrogance, 27 Jumada al‑Awwal 1415 AH — Tehran.

—

## How Do We Confront Arrogance?

The key issue is understanding the means through which arrogance can be confronted. Among them are the following points emphasized repeatedly by Imam Khamenei in his guidance to the Muslim community.

—

### A. Unity and Cohesion

The strength of a fortress from within prevents infiltrators from entering it.

He says:

> “Preserve unity and solidarity. Keep alive the memory of the Imam and the pioneers of the Revolution, as well as the memory of the great martyrs and the inspiring memories of the Revolution and the imposed war in the seminaries, universities, workplaces, and throughout public life.
>
> If this happens, then by God’s grace in the coming decades a great civilization will be built in Iran and in many other places, and Islam and the Muslims will possess such greatness, stature, and power that arrogance will have no real existence before them—and colonialism itself will cease to exist.”

Reference:
3. National Day of Confronting Global Arrogance, 27 Jumada al‑Awwal 1415 AH — Tehran.

—

### B. Possessing Courage

If we feel defeated before the battle begins, or feel embarrassed to reject the demands imposed by arrogant powers, we will become mere tools serving their interests—and history will remember us with condemnation.

He says:

> “Enemies exert pressure, and hardships must be endured for the sake of independence, preserving national identity, and avoiding shame before history. Imagine if Shah Sultan Husayn Safavid had thought carefully before opening the gates of Isfahan to the invaders and placing the crown of kingship on their heads after they entered the city.
>
> If he had reflected that he possessed only one life, and that the calamity that would befall the people because of surrender would be no less than the calamity of resisting the invaders, he would never have surrendered the city.
>
> Study the history of Isfahan and see what disasters the invaders brought upon Isfahan, Kashan, and the central regions of Iran after entering them, and what massacres they committed after surrender. They did not say: since you surrendered, you may now live safely.
>
> Look today at what they are doing to the Iraqi people. This is what they do wherever they impose their domination.
>
> Had Sultan Husayn thought that a single life is of little value compared with defending the sovereignty of Islam, the pleasure of God, and the dignity of the people—he would have entered the battlefield and fought.
>
> Our responsibility today—mine and yours—is extremely serious. We must open the path with wisdom and reflection, along with trust in God and courage, not cowardice. The first duty is internal cohesion. Do not allow disputes and arguments to turn into conflict and division.”

Reference:
4. Meeting with members of the Islamic Consultative Assembly — 26 Rabiʿ al‑Awwal 1424 AH, Tehran.

—

### C. Vigilance and Awareness

Vigilance prevents the enemy from achieving its goals by surprise.

Imam Khamenei says:

> “Vigilance and awareness are among the most important factors in thwarting and defeating the plans of the enemies.
>
> The Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), said: ‘Whoever sleeps will not be slept over.’ This means that we must remain vigilant and cautious against the conspiracies devised by the treacherous and spiteful enemy.”

Reference:
5. Maintaining Religious Commitment

Imam Khamenei expresses this briefly, yet with profound spiritual meaning:

> “If we walk on the straight path of God and adhere to the path of piety, divine unseen assistance will descend upon us moment after moment, because God loves His righteous and pious servants and helps them accomplish their affairs.”

Reference:
6. At that time, the battle will be resolved in favor of faith, and the righteous will inherit the earth.

We conclude with the words of Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure:

> “We ask God to include us in the righteous prayers of our master and guardian, al‑Hujjah ibn al‑Hasan al‑Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance). I ask God to increase the progress of this people day after day, and to elevate the rank of our great Imam who opened before us this luminous divine path.”

And praise be to God, Lord of the worlds.

## Confronting Global Arrogance – Introduction – The Slogan of Confronting Arrogance – Confronting Arrogance Is Natural – How Do We Confront Arrogance? — ## Introduction After understanding the extent of the danger posed by global arrogance to nations, its objectives in seeking domination over their resources, and the malicious methods it follows to achieve …

[11

post-30559","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-culture-
["GET
