The event drew extensive international attendance, reflecting his significant political and religious stature, with 290 officials representing 87 countries participating in the funeral rites held at the Imam Khomeini Grand Mosque (Musalla) in Tehran.<\/h5>\n<h5>Since the early hours of the morning, official, political, religious, and military delegations flocked to the mosque, where the pure body was laid in state, to pay their respects and offer a final farewell. This marks the beginning of a six-day mourning period, preceding the funeral processions that will span across Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad in Iran, as well as Najaf and Karbala in Iraq.<\/h5>\n<h5>The grieving delegations were received at the mosque by senior Iranian officials, led by the President of the Republic, Masoud Pezeshkian; the Speaker of the Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf; and the Head of the Judiciary, Sheikh Mohsen Ejei.
