{"id":7474,"date":"2014-01-25T18:56:03","date_gmt":"2014-01-25T18:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/?p=7474"},"modified":"2014-01-25T18:56:03","modified_gmt":"2014-01-25T18:56:03","slug":"israel-claims-intent-to-replace-al-aqsa-mosque","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/israel-claims-intent-to-replace-al-aqsa-mosque\/","title":{"rendered":"Israel claims intent to replace al-Aqsa mosque"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An official of the Israeli regime has proclaimed that Tel Aviv is contemplating the replacement of the al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds (Jerusalem) with a temple.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Israeli Minister of Housing and Construction Uri Ariel called on Friday for the construction of what he claimed as &#8220;the Third Temple&#8221; to replace the holy site.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Ariel further claimed that the first and the second temples were destroyed many years ago, so the third one needs to be built now.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cAl-Aqsa Mosque is currently in place of the temple,\u201d he asserted.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered the third holiest site in the Muslim world.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Palestinians have denounced the plan as desecration.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">They say it is part of the Israeli regime\u2019s persisting attempts to distort the Arab and Islamic identity and history in and around the al-Aqsa mosque.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Palestinians argue that al-Quds is the capital of a future Palestinian independent state, and that its heritage should remain intact.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An official of the Israeli regime has proclaimed that Tel Aviv is contemplating the replacement of the al-Aqsa Mosque in al-Quds (Jerusalem) with a temple.
