Regarding the importance of prayers in one\u2019s life, the respected teacher of the Islamic seminary stated: \u201cPrayer is a blessing that has presence in a person\u2019s life from their birth till the time of their death.\u201d<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cWhen a person comes to this world, the call to prayer and aqamah<\/em> is recited in their ears; both of which contain the phrase \u2018hayya \u2018ala salaah\u2019.<\/em> When a person passes away, funeral prayers are recited upon their body, after which they are buried.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIn the blessed Quran it has been narrated that God ordered Prophet Ibrahim (a), Shu\u2019ayb (a), Musa (a) and Isa (a) to pray.\u201d<\/p>\n Reminding the gathering of the true position of prayers in relation to our other deeds, Hujjat al-Islam Qara\u2019ati explained: \u201cPrayer is like a stamp and just how a letter without a stamp holds no value, the actions of a person are also valueless without prayer, and those actions are not accepted.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAll the actions of us servants are measured up against our prayers. If our prayers are accepted by God, then our actions will be accepted too\u201d.<\/p>\n The renowned commentator of the Quran briefly touched upon the practical steps that could be taken to bring people closer to their prayers. He said: \u201cTo invite people to prayers we must soften their hearts, especially the youth, and this will not happen unless their attention is turned towards the numerous blessings of God.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cGod has created everything in this world upon principles and laws and none of the blessings of God lack wisdom.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued: \u201cWe must recount the blessings of God favourably and cheerfully to the people so that this proper etiquette leads them towards His blessings and the upholding of prayers.\u201d<\/p>\n Hujjat al-Islam Mohsin Qara\u2019ati finished this segment of his talk with a reminder of our responsibility towards ourselves when we look to propagate to others.
