The spokesman for the terrorist group, the so-called Islamic State in Iraq and Levant, Abu Mohammed al-Adnani vowed that the battle in Iraq will \u201crage\u201d in the capital and the holy city of Karbala, a day after the terrorists seized the northern city of Mosul.<\/p>\n
“Do not relent against your enemy… The battle is not yet raging, but it will rage in Baghdad and Karbala,” Adnani said, according to a SITE translation of an audio statement released on the militants’ Twitter feed.
\n“Put on your belts and get ready.”<\/p>\n
Adnani also dismissed Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki as \u201cwoefully incompetent.\u201d
\n“What do you know about policy, leadership, and military command? You lost a historic opportunity for your people to control Iraq, and the Shiites will always curse you for as long as they live. Indeed, there is between us and you a balance to be made even,\u201d the terrorists spokesman said in the translated statement.<\/p>\n
Earlier on Wednesday, Maliki said that the seizure of Mosul was a conspiracy, vowing that the government will hold perpetrators responsible.<\/p>\n
In a televised speech, Maliki said he will form an army of volunteers to support the regular armed forces in the face of the terrorist attack.<\/p>\n
