{"id":9322,"date":"2014-06-13T13:39:25","date_gmt":"2014-06-13T13:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/?p=9322"},"modified":"2014-06-13T13:39:25","modified_gmt":"2014-06-13T13:39:25","slug":"repent-or-die-al-qaeda-forces-announce-rules-for-iraqi-territory-they-now-control","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wilayah.info\/en\/repent-or-die-al-qaeda-forces-announce-rules-for-iraqi-territory-they-now-control\/","title":{"rendered":"Repent or die: al-Qaeda forces announce rules for Iraqi territory they now control"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"secondPar\" style=\"color: #282828;\">\n<p>The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham has set out a list of rules for residents of Mosul as it seeks to impose its Islamist rules on Iraq&#8217;s second city.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"thirdPar\" style=\"color: #282828;\">\n<p>Referring to the area by its ancient name, Nineveh, the group says it has a clear set of instructions for the remaining occupants of the city and surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p>Firstly it tells &#8220;anyone who is asking,&#8221; who its members are and what it is about: &#8220;We are soldiers of Islam and we&#8217;ve taken on our responsibility to bring back glory of the Islamic Caliphate.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>All Muslims in the city have been instructed to attend mosque for the five daily prayers.<\/p>\n<p>It confirms that it seized up to half a billion dollars from the Mosul branch of the Bank of Iraq but states it can be trusted with the funds.<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"http:\/\/player.ooyala.com\/iframe.js#pbid=7dfd98005dba40baacc82277f292e522&amp;ec=FndW45bjoItHEsW3Lg30WZOC2sXepaHs\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Any one of its members who breach this promise will have their hands cut off.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No drugs, no alcohol and no cigarettes allowed,&#8221; it added.<\/p>\n<p>No public gathering other than those organised by ISIS will be allowed at any stage. No guns will be allowed outside of its ranks.<\/p>\n<p>All tribal leaders and sheikhs in the area have been warned not to co-operate with the state.<\/p>\n<p>In a warning to the police, soldiers and other &#8220;kaffr&#8221; bodies the choice is to repent or face the ultimate punishment. The group said it will open &#8220;special places&#8221; for repentance.<\/p>\n<p>Outlining its sectarian bias it declared all shrines, graveyards and monuments will be destroyed.<\/p>\n<p>Finally all women must dress in concealing clothing that preserve decency.
