Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani,\u00a0addressing a\u00a0\u00a0gathering in Tabriz, spoke about the academic service of the Islamic world to all of mankind. He stated: \u201cA look at Islamic history shows that the greatest blessings bestowed upon humanity were gained from the religion of Islam and the school of thought of the Ahl al-Bayt (s).\u201d<\/p>\n
His eminence spoke about the dark ages in Europe when the Islamic world was a beacon of academia and sciences. His eminence stated: \u201cThere was a time when you could not find a single scholar in all of Europe and what is more astonishing is the non-existence of libraries.\u201d<\/p>\n
Touching upon the theft of knowledge in the East, by the West, he stated: \u201cThe great Muslim scholars eased the path for progress and rapid development of the Islamic world. History is witness to the enslavement of Eastern scholars by the West. \u201c<\/p>\n
He continued: \u201cThe West planned the Crusades for the destruction of Islam and the Muslims and after it had been defeated, it entered a different stage in its confrontation. By plundering the libraries and the sciences of the Islamic scholars they created their new civilization.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cAll the sciences were linked to the divine; however, when the West looted that knowledge, they secularized it.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
Ayatollah Nouri Hamedani finished by expanding further how the West adulterated the pure sciences. He concluded: \u201cThe west took away the efficient cause, which was God, and the final cause, which was service to mankind, from the sciences and limited the sciences to the material cause.\u201d<\/p>\n
