The following\u00a0comment was posted on an\u00a0online chat forum for Muslim syesterday inviting responses:<\/p>\n

Some of the other members of the forum became suspicious by the strange comment and decided to check the new member\u2019s ISP address:<\/p>\n

More up-to-date checks of the ISP address by other members of the forum showed the comment was posted by someone working at the Daily Mail Group (the Evening Standard used to be part of\u00a0the Daily Mail Group):<\/p>\n

The whole thread has now been deleted from\u00a0the forum\u00a0but it can still be\u00a0viewed on Google\u2019s webcache here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So it seems the\u00a0Daily Mail ordered\u00a0one of their journalists to pose as an extremist on a Muslim forum to try to elicit\u00a0comments they\u00a0could use for an anti-Muslim story.<\/p>\n

Fortunately they were busted.<\/p>\n

In a civilised society, a national newspaper journalist trying to stir up hatred and controversy with lies and subterfuge\u00a0should be so professionally shameful it would normally lead to the sack for the hack concerned and investigations into standards of journalistic accountability at the publication.<\/p>\n

At the Daily Mail \u2013 it\u2019s just another day at the office.<\/strong><\/p>\n
