Amnesty International has decried \u201croof knocking,\u201d saying it in no way constitutes an \u201ceffective warning.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A YouTube video uploaded on Saturday shows how a Palestinian house is struck by a warning shot before being destroyed about a minute later by a full missile attack.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/waSPsI9-ge8\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Prior to the strike the occupants of the building reportedly received a call from the IDF, warning of an imminent attack.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Amnesty International has condemned the \u201cknock on the roof\u201d technique in an appeal to the UN to investigate possible violations committed by Hamas and the IDF during Operation Protective Shield.<\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u201cThere is no way that firing a missile at a civilian home can constitute an effective \u2018warning.\u2019 Amnesty International has documented cases of civilians killed or injured by such missiles in previous Israeli military operations on the Gaza Strip,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Philip Luther Director of the Middle East and North Africa Program at Amnesty International.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5iWdoQ034T4\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"color: #000000;\">Over a hundred Palestinians have been killed in the latest Israeli offensive on Gaza and Amnesty documents that at least 24 children and 16 women were among the casualties.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cSwift UN action is needed as lives hang in the balance,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0said Luther.\u00a0<em>\u201cThe international community must not repeat previous mistakes, standing by and watching the devastating consequences for civilians of both sides.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Amnesty has also urged for an embargo on all Israeli and Palestinian military groups in an effort to bring a halt to the conflict.<\/p>\n<p>The Israeli government says that it does not target civilians in its strikes and claims that members of Hamas are using the Palestinian civilian population as a human shield.<\/p>\n<p>Source: <a href=\"http:\/\/rt.com\/news\/172316-israel-knock-roof-video\/\">RT<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The IDF practice of firing a missile at a civilian home to warn the occupants to leave the building before a larger attack, has been caught on film.
