In an interview with French daily Le Figaro published Tuesday, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi stressed that those who respect the right of Yemeni people to freedom and independence can enjoy positive political and economic relations with Yemen.
The leader of the revolution accused some European countries of exploiting the war on Yemen to sell arms deals and carry out military activities.
“Many western countries consider wars in the light of their economic interests, to the detriment of human rights,” he said.
Sayyed Abdulmalik also stressed that the Saudi regime is using internationally prohibited weapons to kill civilians and destroy facilities which international organizations confirmed.
The leader of the revolution explained that French official position comes after the British in its negative attitude toward the Yemeni people and its contribution to the aggression.
Sayyed Abdulmalik deplored France’s support for the Saudi and Emirati regimes “France, which has a bitter experience with events targeting its security by al-Qaeda and Daesh, is making a mistake by standing alongside the Saudi and Emirati regimes, who support al-Qaeda in Yemen as factions fighting alongside mercenaries.”
France should review its policy, maintain its great economic interests and its positive relationship with the Yemeni people.
“In Yemen, France should support peace, not war,” he added.
Sayyed Abdulmalik pointed out that “there was not refusal to meet the French ambassador, but was asked to provide an explanation in advance about the role of France in the aggression on Yemen after the media announcement about the French military participation. We have learned that the coalition of aggression is the one who objected to his arrival.”
He stressed that “whoever wants to be a mediator in stopping the aggression against our country is important first to be balanced, neutral and keen to achieve peace.”
About the battle of Hodeidah Sayyed Abdulmalik said that “it is strange to demand that the Yemenis pull out of their city of Hodeidah for handing it over to the United Arab Emirates, which is committing an act of aggression against us. Such a demand violates international conventions.”
“What if the United Kingdom called on the French to abandon Paris or another city and give it up to the British? Is this a logical request?” he added.
Sayyed Abdulmalik pointed out that since the days of Ould Cheikh as a UN envoy, the role of supervision and logistics that the UN wants to hold in the port never had been rejected, but on the condition that the aggression against Hodeidah stops.
He pointed out that “the UN envoy conveyed the demands of the UAE but we are concerned with his initiative and not the demands of the UAE and its ambitions.”
The leader of the revolution reiterated the readiness to stop the rocket fire on Saudi Arabia and the UAE if they stopped their aggression on Yemen, stressing that Yemen position is basically self-defense.
With regard to the issue of weapons, Sayyed Abdulmalik confirmed that the weapons present with all parties and those present with the mercenaries of the aggression are more recent. If the aggression ceases, a political solution is formed and a partnership government is formed, it is the responsibility of the parties to deal with the matter in a situation where it is certain to stop targeting and aggression against Yemeni people.
He pointed out that the issue of forming a Yemeni government within the political solution on the basis of partnership was possible from the beginning with the testimony of former UN envoy Jamal bin Omar.
Sayyed Abdulmalik Al-Houthi stressed that the war on Yemen is not for the sake of forming government, but its real aim to control Yemen, land and human.
