Iranians commemorated today, Wednesday, February 11, the 47th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution across all provinces of the country.
Tasnim International News Agency reported that the February 11 rallies and anniversary ceremonies were held in Tehran and throughout the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In the capital, Tehran, the events were organized along 13 routes, all leading to Azadi Square. The main ceremony in the capital began at 9:30 a.m. and included poetry recitations, anthem performances, a speech by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, and the reading of the final statement.
A striking image captured the presence of the Iranian people at the February 11 rally.
Araghchi: The People’s Presence Is a Message of Strength for the Islamic Republic
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said during the February 11 rallies that “the people’s presence represents a message of strength for the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we draw upon this participation in the diplomatic arena.”
He added that this popular presence “is the secret of Iran’s strength and capability, and the most important element supporting us at the negotiating table.”
“Death to America and Israel” Chanted in Tehran’s Azadi Square
Azadi Square in Tehran witnessed chants of “Death to America” and “Death to Israel” on the sidelines of the February 11 rallies commemorating the victory of the Islamic Revolution, with broad participation from various segments of society.
Senior Military Officials Participate in the Rally
Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Esmail Qaani, took part in the February 11 rally.
President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran would overcome upcoming challenges through national resilience and under the wise guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Speaking this morning at Azadi Square during the commemoration ceremony, Pezeshkian said that the “Day of God” embodies the uprising of a conscious people against oppression, aggression, and arrogance, and represents the path from darkness to light. He added that the philosophy of the Iranian Revolution is based on establishing justice and demonstrating domestic capabilities in science, art, and governance, in order to send a message of independence and dignity to Muslims worldwide.
The president explained that what he described as “arrogant powers,” led by the United States and supported by certain European countries, attempted from the early days of the revolution to stir unrest, create divisions, and engineer coups to halt the growth of the nascent revolution, but their efforts ultimately failed.
He pointed to the legacy of fallen figures and senior leaders such as Soleimani, Bagheri, and Salami as evidence of sacrifice for Iran’s dignity, calling for comparisons between officials who allegedly acquire assets abroad and those who served the nation without seeking power or wealth.
Pezeshkian also emphasized that enemies use media to mislead youth about the country’s true servants, asserting that the martyrdom of those figures stands as proof of their legitimacy.
He added: “As a government official, I affirm that we apologize to the people for any shortcomings. The government is working at full capacity to solve problems, and we are confident that through national resilience and under the wise guidance of the Leader of the Revolution, we will overcome the coming challenges.”
IRGC Commander-in-Chief Major General Mohammad Pakpour, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, President Pezeshkian, and Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, also participated in the rallies in Tehran.
Symbolic Coffins and Missile Displays
Symbolic coffins representing several American and Israeli military leaders were displayed on the sidelines of the February 11 rallies.
Cruise missiles, including “Soumar,” “Noor,” and “Qadir,” as well as ballistic missiles such as “Haj Qassem,” “Emad,” and “Zolfaghar,” were exhibited in Azadi Square ahead of the national ceremony. Some of these missiles had reportedly been used in operations known as “True Promise 1, 2, and 3” against Israel, as well as in targeting the U.S. base at Al Udeid in Qatar.
Israeli drones that were reportedly shot down during the 12-day war were also displayed during the rallies in Tehran.
Iranians marked the anniversary following large gatherings held on what was referred to as the “Day of God” on January 12, when citizens demonstrated to condemn armed terrorist acts attributed to Mossad elements. Today’s rallies were also expected to include condemnations of what were described as crimes committed by the United States and Israel in recent years, particularly the 12-day war and an alleged “quasi-coup attempt” that occurred in January of this year.
Last night at 9:00 p.m., citizens across the country chanted “Allahu Akbar” to commemorate the revolution’s victory. Many cities, especially Tehran, witnessed spontaneous public gatherings where people waved Iranian flags and repeated the chant in public squares.
According to Tasnim, senior religious authorities, scholars, heads of branches of government, military leaders, officials, institutions, political parties, and public figures issued separate statements calling on citizens to participate in the national occasion.
Hojjat al-Islam Khodadadeh, Deputy Head of Ceremonial Affairs at the Islamic Propaganda Coordination Council, announced yesterday that more than 7,700 journalists—including 200 foreign journalists—would cover the February 11 events.
He added that military institutions and the aerospace sector would unveil their latest achievements for the first time along the rally routes, aiming to highlight the country’s scientific capabilities and military development alongside popular participation.
