O sister… if your husband marries again,

O sister… if your husband marries again, I will not speak at length, because of the sensitivity of the subject and because it deserves detailed discussion on another occasion. But I will say briefly:

1. Do not say that the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) is betrayal—because it is an honor. Sadly, it is often spread and said that a second marriage is marital betrayal:
“Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they say nothing but lies.”
(Qur’an, Al‑Kahf 18:5)

2. Do not stray from your religion, and do not utter what is impermissible in following the desires of the self. Do not allow your heart to carry resentment toward the believers:
“And do not place in our hearts any rancor toward those who believe.”
(Qur’an, Al‑Hashr 59:10)

3. Do not become a free or cheap mouthpiece for those with sharp tongues—those who fish in troubled waters, the meddling women, the gossipers, the envious, and those who harbor ill intentions—who claim they want your “best interest”! We seek refuge in Allah from the devils of humankind and jinn:
“They inspire one another with adorned speech as a delusion.”
(Qur’an, Al‑An‘am 6:112)

4. Be concerned with your husband about his religion, his commitment, and his Hereafter. Do not be selfish. Take as an example that righteous woman who said to her husband:
“I implore you not to enter the Fire because of me.”
