US Aggression on Southern Iran Leaves Casualties and People Trapped Under Rubble

On Thursday dawn (July 30, 2026), the United States of America launched a series of attacks targeting various regions in southern Iran, resulting in the injury of two people on Qeshm Island. Meanwhile, search and rescue operations are ongoing for three individuals still trapped under the rubble following a strike on a residential house on the island.

The official Iranian news agency, IRNA, reported that two people have been injured so far as a result of the US aggression on Qeshm Island. In the same context, the Deputy Governor of Hormozgan confirmed that a hostile attack targeted a residential home on the island, noting that search and rescue operations are continuing to locate three people still trapped under the debris.

In Khuzestan Province, the Deputy Governor announced that areas surrounding the cities of Shadegan, Ahvaz, and Abadan were subjected to US missile attacks, further confirming that areas near the city of Arvandkenar were also targeted by US aggression.

Iranian television reported that two explosions were heard in the port of Bandar Abbas, suggesting they were likely caused by the defensive activities of the Iranian armed forces. It also reported hearing sounds of explosions on the islands of Abu Musa and Kish, in addition to the maritime area surrounding Qeshm Island.

For its part, Tasnim News Agency noted that US missiles were being launched intensively from Kuwaiti territory toward Iran, while Fars News Agency confirmed hearing an explosion in Bushehr Province before later reporting the sound of several explosions on Kish Island. Nour News also mentioned that several explosions were heard in the city of Ahvaz.

Earlier, the US military announced it had launched “strikes” on Iran, with the US Central Command stating that its forces had targeted dozens of facilities belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), confirming that more than 50,000 US troops remain deployed in the “Middle East” region.

The United States continues its assaults on areas within Iran, violating the memorandum of understanding reached in Switzerland last June, as the US aggression resumed following a several-day pause in attacks.

In response, Iran counters any US aggression by targeting strategic bases and sites belonging to the US military in the region. It also confronts attempts by vessels to traverse illegal corridors—incited by Washington—in the Strait of Hormuz, which remains closed due to the aggression.

In the context of the Iranian response, Iranian television revealed that the missile attacks that targeted the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan were carried out based on intelligence received by the Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters. It clarified that the operation came after Washington redeployed A-10 and F-15 fighter jets and new military systems inside the base, and that the Aerospace Force of the IRGC carried out a “surprise operation” during which it successfully destroyed its targets.

Iranian television asserted that all movements of US forces in the region are “under surveillance,” and that the IRGC and the Iranian army will target predetermined objectives “as quickly as possible” should the need arise.
