Yemen Strikes Sensitive Saudi Targets in Najran in Retaliatory Operations

News – Yemen: The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Thursday that they successfully carried out two military operations using drones, targeting sensitive Saudi enemy sites in Najran.

In a statement, the Armed Forces confirmed that the first operation targeted a “sensitive target” at Najran Airport, while the second struck the Saudi Aramco facility in Najran. Both operations achieved their objectives successfully, the statement said.
Retaliation for Saudi Airspace Violations
The operations were carried out in response to Saudi enemy violations of Yemeni airspace over Saada province using drones, the Armed Forces said. The statement emphasized that Yemen will continue to protect its sovereignty from any violations and will maintain this deterrence equation.
The strikes on Najran come amid escalating tensions following Yemen’s declaration of a naval blockade on Saudi Arabia and sustained drone and missile attacks on Saudi targets. The targeting of Najran Airport and the Aramco facility represents an expansion of Yemen’s operations beyond the Jizan refinery, which has been repeatedly struck in recent weeks.
Najran is a key Saudi city near the Yemeni border, housing military installations and economic infrastructure. The targeting of the Aramco facility in Najran—while smaller than the Jizan refinery—represents a continuation of Yemen’s strategy to impose economic costs on Saudi Arabia as part of the “siege for siege” equation.
