## Introduction
In this chapter, we will discuss the methods adopted by arrogant powers to achieve political, cultural, and economic domination over oppressed and developing nations. Among the most prominent examples today are Palestine and Iraq. Naturally, the examples cited by Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, in this context relate to these two events, which represent some of the most serious actions carried out by the forces of global arrogance.

## 1. Political Domination
It is not necessary for arrogant powers to occupy a country militarily in order to control its political decision‑making and achieve their objectives. Many examples can be seen throughout the Islamic world, where the West has succeeded in dominating numerous countries even though its tanks have never set foot on their soil.
For this reason, Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, draws attention to this form of domination, saying:
> “Today we once again stand before one of those decisive moments and face one of those comprehensive tests. After the end of what is called the Cold War—and taking advantage of the frightening silence prevailing in some countries of this region, as well as relying on the usurping military presence in the Persian Gulf—America aims to resolve its own problem and that of the usurping Zionists, in such a way that the Arabs recognize Israel and ‘Palestine’ is extinguished forever.”
One of the most important objectives of arrogance—and of the United States in particular in this region—is the elimination of Palestine and the consolidation of the existence of the usurping entity called Israel in the heart of the Islamic world. Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, says:
> “The enemy seeks to sever Palestine once and for all from the body of the Islamic world and to preserve the cursed Zionist tree in the lands of the Muslims. Through the consolidation of the occupying regime, America aims to control all the lifelines of this sensitive region and to rid itself of the concern of Islamic awakening in the Middle East and Africa. The enemies of Islam want through this to vent all their hidden hatred toward Islam and to take revenge for the defeats they have suffered in recent years as a result of the awakening of Muslims.

> This event cannot be compared with any of the conspiracies that have been plotted against the Middle East in recent years. What we are witnessing here is the usurpation of an entire homeland, the permanent displacement of an entire people, and the final severing of a part of the body of the Islamic world and a central geographical point of the great Islamic homeland—the first qibla of the Muslims.”

## The Political Deception of Arrogant Powers
Arrogant powers historically adopt cunning political methods. Moral values and human sentiments do not restrain them, because they have abandoned such principles whenever they conflict with their illegitimate ambitions. For this reason, constant vigilance is necessary, and every proposal coming from such powers must be carefully examined—especially when it is known that they will not hesitate to employ any method, even the most disgraceful, to achieve their illegitimate goals according to human, moral, and religious standards.
Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, points to this reality:
> “The enemy is political and experienced in politics and possesses a shrewd political mind. It carefully considers what it should do. One of its strategies is that it does not reveal its final word at the beginning. Rather, it gradually formulates its ambitions and forces its opponent to retreat step by step. As soon as you retreat, it presents another demand. Some say: let us give them something and take something in return. Giving them something is possible, but taking something from them is not, because they will give nothing.
>
> They fabricate slogans. They placed Iran within the ‘axis of evil’, and some say: let us do such and such so they remove us from that axis. What kind of logic is this? They committed a foolish act by placing us in the axis of evil—so now do they intend to remove us from it? They will return us to it whenever they see it necessary.
>
> Therefore you must be careful not to retreat, because such retreat has no limits. If you withdraw from this trench, they will raise another demand, such as saying: recognize this illegitimate government. Then the same pressures and threats will return. Once you recognize it, another demand will appear, such as removing the word ‘Islam’ from your constitution. You will then be required to withdraw step by step, and this process has no end.”

## External Pressures of Arrogance
Arrogant powers—those that claim to be great powers—adopt a long‑standing method of exerting pressure on nations that refuse to submit to their political will. They take numerous steps in this regard.
Imam Khamenei, may his shadow endure, spoke about the pressures exerted by such states and about what officials must understand regarding the nature of these pressures and the duty to confront them:
> “I have raised this issue many times with certain officials who were troubled by doubts and illusions. I asked them: where is the limit of American pressure? Where is the point beyond which we will face no more pressure from America? I say: where is this limit? It is the moment when you declare—something that neither you nor I have the right to declare—on behalf of the Iranian people that we no longer want Islam, the Islamic Republic, or the rule of the people, and that anyone they deem suitable may come and govern this country. That is the limit, and it is the beginning of the country’s captivity.
>
> Do we have such a right? Do you and I have the right to hand this country over to the enemy? Did the people place us in positions of responsibility for such a purpose?
>
> In my view, there is an exaggeration of the enemy’s power and capabilities. This is not because I am unaware of them—on the contrary, I am more aware than many of you of the resources they possess and the equipment they manufacture. We know what is happening in the world.
>
> Weapons, espionage devices, and intelligence equipment alone are not enough for a power to impose its domination on a nation determined to stand firm. That is why you hear them saying in their statements that Iran must be dealt with from within and that the will to resist must be weakened. If the will of the people—which is reflected in the will of their officials—does not weaken, they will not be able to do anything.
>
> Enemies exert pressure, and there are hardships that must be endured for the sake of independence, preserving national identity, and avoiding shame before history.”
He then refers to a historical example, explaining that surrendering to invading forces does not prevent suffering but often leads to greater humiliation and destruction. Therefore, resistance—even if difficult—preserves dignity and may prevent far greater catastrophes.
> “This is the lesson of history and the responsibility that rests upon officials in government and the state—whether in the legislative, judicial, or executive branches. All of them are part of this system.”
