Ayatollah Mehdi Aasifi, speaking about the current situation of Iraq, explained the existential threat the country faces. His eminence stated:”Today Iraq is standing face to face with a real threat from terrorist groups. The terrorists who had attacked Ramadi, Fallujah and Samarra have now moved on to Mosul.”
“The danger of destruction, demolition, genocide and violation of sanctities that occurred in Syria has now encircled Iraq.”
The Ayatollah explained the responsibility of Muslims towards such a situation: “It is a religious obligation of every honourable Muslim to help and give towards the resistance, the defence of Islam, Iraq and getting rid of the existential threat which has surrounded this country.”
Ayatollah Mehdi Aasifi finished this segment of his message by stressing the importance of resolving this issue: “Religious scholars, Friday prayer leaders, security forces, respected elders and honourable Muslim youth have a responsibility to get rid of this sedition on their shoulders, and if this issue is not resolved, an even greater corruption will take place on this Earth.”
