Ayatollah Abbas Ka’bi, a highly respected teacher of the Islamic seminary, in a meeting with the central committee of Majlise Wahdate Muslimeen (MWM), spoke about the importance of following the footsteps of the Ahlulbayt (a) to ensure victory for any movement.
“Victory is certain for us if we travel upon the principles of the school of the Ahlulbayt (a).”
Ayatollah Ka’bi stated that one of the principles of the Ahlulbayt (a) was to progress and advance on the foundations of knowledge. He explained: “Muslims are in need of an intellectual movement alongside one which is saturated with emotions and religious sentiments. Team building should take place upon this foundation.”
Emphasising the strategic importance of South Asia in the world, the highly respected teacher of the Isalmic seminary stated: “This region needs to have an intellectual resurgence based upon the foundations of the understandings of the purified Ahlulbayt (a).”
His eminence continued his advice by speaking about the importance of securing material capital in gaining independence to carry out your responsibilities.
He recalled: “They [the Ahlulbayt (a)] wanted the Shia to have standing and honour in society and they say business as one of the ways to achieve this. You should also find investment opportunities for yourselves so that you can gain the capabilities necessary to be successful in carrying out your responsibilities in reaching your objectives.”
Ayatollah Ka’bi also spoke about the strength of loving the Ahlulbayt and envisaged this as being one of the factors that could unite all Muslims.
His eminence went on to explain that those elements within the Shia that insult the Ahl al-Sunnah are factors which disunite the Islamic world further.
“Both, them and the takfiri are two sides of the same coin and there is no difference in both of them being tools for Satan.”
Clarifying any doubts about what unity means, the Ayatollah stated: “Proximity does not mean compromising your own beliefs; rather, it means focussing and emphasising on those things which are similar.”
Ayatollah Ka’bi saw understanding the real enemy as another factor which could unite the Muslims, regarding this he stated: “Today Islam and the Muslims have a common enemy and hence we cannot make strategies based on just one region or area.”
He continued: “If you see that the Americans or the Zionists speak in favour of the Shia or the Ahl al-Sunnah, know that this means we are doing something wrong.”
“Some imagine that through secularism and submitting to the west they can progress, however, all this leads to is the rule of colonialism and the arrogant powers on the Islamic countries.”
His eminence explained the importance of a movement to avoid becoming static. He stated: “We should not halt our progress at any point, instead we should always be in the state of advancement and we should always hold onto the revolutionary spirit.”
