The historic mosque of Sa’sa’a bin Suhan in Askar, south to Manama, has once again been attacked. The front doors and belongings of the mosque were broken down and vandalized. The repeated systematic attacks are carried out with unannounced official support.
The mosque goes back to more than 1000 years. Thousands of Bahrainis and residents of the neighboring countries used to visit the mosque. Today, it has been turned into ruins due to the regime’s attacks on holy places and ban on reconstruction or rebuilding.
Al Wefaq National Islamic Society said the regime is taking part in the crime against the holy mosque that goes back to the first decades of Islam, by remaining silent over these systematic attacks.
Al Wefaq condemned the repeated attacks on religious places stressing that the regime’s silence expresses consent to the systematic attacks.
